Got a tour last night

I jumped into EoTM last night after the dailies I wanted were done and got lucky enough to land in the right overflow at the right time. A German language group was setting up for something, but they weren’t quite ready yet. So players had a Box’o Fun out, fireworks, and some were dancing. You know? All the usual crap that bored twitchy GW2 players do when they’re waiting for a guild event to start. So I decided to wait and see what happened.

Btw, it had to be either Kodash or Drakkar Lake because they’re the only German servers on the Red side this week. Thanks for the tour guys.

They started as a group without saying a word so obviously they had TS. The commander literally stopped at every point on the map, even if Red already owned the spot. The grawl trickster wound up with an army of sentries to protect him. We jumped into every bucket and people got ressed if they needed to try again. We turned into an army of polar bears at one time, and an army of devourers too.

The bell ringing thing didn’t quite work out, and summoning the Claw of Koda didn’t happen either. I don’t know why. We rode the wurm tunnel, which was visually pretty disappointing, but the air strike grenade was really cool. I hope that thing works in the rest of the game, or at least the regular WvW maps.

Along the way we almost never got attacked. Solo artists and small groups just melted out of the way but a couple of guys tried to demolish a bridge. We just rebuilt it.

The one time a semi-organized group tried to cut our tail the commander and his main group turned on a dime and annihilated the Frostgorge players who had followed us out of their corner. It was zerg thuggery at its best and worst, but it made for some PvP fun in the middle of a PvD map tour.

I really want to sound positive about this tour because it was a reasonable lot of fun, where I haven’t been enjoying EoTM up until now, but this really reinforces that this map is designed for PvD zerglings on the karma train, or touring for achievement points like we were doing. I don’t see myself doing this daily.

Arenanet have said they want to discourage the zergs, but yet again they’ve given us material where zerging is the best answer.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.
