So what happens if one side(red/blue/green) can fill up lets say 10 overflow while other side fill up 5 overflow?

The rest 5 overflow basically will be PvD or ghost server. Or is there some built-in solution to this already?

Just curious.

what? People from all servers fills 1 overflow, then 2 overflow, then 3rd and so on
What you described just impossible

I think what he is saying is this:

Main map is full and after this:

Red teams (combined) muster 1,000 players.
Green teams (combined) muster 1,00 players.
Blue teams (combined) muster 5000 players.

If the maps can hold 100 players per colour each, then red teams have enough to fill their allocation in 10 overflows, green teams have enough to fill 10 overflows, blue can only fill their allocation in 5 overflows. Or will all 2500 players be put into a huge pot and distributed unequally across fewer overflows?

Will there be 5 overflows with nobody from blue in, or will the 500 blues be distributed across those overflows and be under strength?

I don’t know how overflows work, so I don’t know.

Actally what you describe is just impossible. One side will be more populated then the others for sure. They will need more overflows than the others.

That’s just the nature of the beast, unfortunately. At least with overflows being shared by all the servers rather than a single matchup, the possibility for greatly imbalanced numbers is diminished.

be great if they made it so players cant stack on each other… try to zerg over a bridge it forces you off or it has a weight capacity and will fall with 20 or 50+ people to there deaths.

This. It won’t be perfectly balanced, i mean on na side, if you get blackgate and sor as the same color, providing they’re somehow not in the same match up, that will be a lot of people for that color alone; however, it still shouldn’t be bad.

Note: For the entire duration of this post I’m using ‘server population’ to mean the number of players who play WvW. I’m aware there are some ‘high’ or ‘very high’ population servers who don’t have many people in WvW, but I’m not talking about them. It’s just easier to say ‘high pop’ than ‘servers with a lot of regularly active WvW players’.

As far as I understand it the way WvW match-ups are designed should make this highly unlikely.

A high pop server will do much better than a low pop one, meaning at the end of the week the high pop server will move up the ranking, the low pop one will move down and both will be matched up against opponents they’re more equally matched with.

Because the colours are always shared evenly (you don’t ever get 2 red sides in a match) this means the high pop servers will all be fighting each other, and therefore split evenly between the 3 colours, and the same for the low pop ones.

And since EOTM maps are shared between all servers they’ll balance each other out. The high pop blue server will be joined by the low pop blue server and all the ones in between, and the same for all the other colours.

Unless one server has enough people that they can noticeably outnumber 1/3 of all the other servers in their region put together it won’t ever be an issue.

And if it does happen, well, this is why EotM doesn’t count towards your servers score.
