Q:

Hey guys, I don’t think there was any thread started about this issue, but I am hoping that we can get this resolved hopefully for the future.

I think the “Group Effort” reward thing is BS, and I think the end reward/mega bag/ people not receiving it because the get kicked out too soon should be looked into.

For starters, anyone who is in the map reaps the rewards from others’ hard work. Essentially this means that when you have zergers on a map, they get all their own loot +the loot from other people saving the civs. And not to mention the afkers! Both these groups of people are a large detriment to goal-oriented, teamwork based event goers, and to add insult to injury, they both get freebies for not giving a dinglewat.

Is that really fair Anet?

What I would most like to see resolved though, involves the end of the event. When the miasma reaches it’s limit, you are encouraged to leave(before the poison forcefully kicks you out). If the map/group gets 1200 civvies before this happens, no problem right? Everyone goes home happy with a nice large bag.

But what about after that? The civ counter still counts up to about 40 extra civs(assuming that one stays alive that long without getting into a fight), and therefore, it’s still possible to get the mega bag that you worked so hard for before getting kicked out. Anet, please listen—cuz this is the poopy part—if you happen to be someone who gets knocked down/kicked out etc right as, or just before the reward pops up…well you’re screwed. Then what does that person have to show for the past hour they spent on that map? NOTHING. I weep for this and I know I am not the only one.

There really is nothing compared to wasting 1 hour on an event working collectively(and hard) to get an awesome reward to suddenly not get it. I know in past events, this was better. If a person got kicked of a map, but the reward registered, they would be able to get it upon the loading of their new map.

So, I would like more than anything to understand what was the choice of giving the whole map ‘group effort’ rewards even if they weren’t involved(I mean come on, you don’t give bag drops that someone gets to everyone else that wasn’t involved in slaying a monster/boss, do you?)? I would also like to know if this issue of getting kicked out before being able to receive a reward that is rightfully earned can be addressed so it is not a problem in the future.

Thanks for reading. Happy Mega-Bag Hunting.
