What drops the most of them? Do they come from the 15 bags you get at the end? More from killing the monsters while saving civilians?

Every Alliance Supplies bag drops one.

There was also a chance of alliance bags dropping 25 shards, but that was stealth nerfed out of existence two patches ago (even though Devs promised they will never again adjust drops without informing us about it).

So the only way to save up 500 blade shards is to do the event 33 1/3 times? :|

No not even close.

I have over 3000 blade shards and I’ve run this event about 20 times max (I’m being generous as I think it’s closer to 15 times). I also have the achievement rewards for the meta (100 supply bags) and the heirlooms (50 supply bags).

It’s seriously not that hard and I’m going to have to destroy blade shards now since they don’t have any monetary value and I’m out of storage space.

I guess my follow up question then should have been:

Besides the 15 alliance bags you get per run (and the 2 metas, which I’ve already done), what else gives out the bags? Do they drop from mobs?

Yes. Everything except the Kill the Elite Aetherblades event gives out loot that can include those bags. Something gives out like a keg of bags or something which has 100 of them in it. There’s tons of ways to get those bags, just follow a zerg around if you only care about the bags. I’ve got enough of those blades to make several back pieces now and my luck is going up like crazy with all the salvaging of greens from them too.

No not even close.

I have over 3000 blade shards and I’ve run this event about 20 times max (I’m being generous as I think it’s closer to 15 times).

As i have already pointed out, the shard drop rates were severely nerfed yesterday. Now you get no more than 1 shard per alliance supply bag (and some bags do not contain shards). To get 3k shards in 15 events now, you’d need to farm 200-250 bags per event now.

Ok thanks. I guess after the initial few days of following the zerg and working on achievements, I settled in to just trying to get like 33 heirlooms each day to try to save up to get the halo thing (not even sure what it does). As such, the only bags I’ve been seeing are the 15 at the end.

I just need to get back on the train.
