Apparently the twisted menders that spawn around blue knight have some pretty powerful heals.
So Anet logic is that to make the 6 min achievement easier is to split up the zerg and have healing minions that can screw up everything? This event has gone from fairly challenging to down right not worth the effort. I no longer have any interest in this event. This event has been fixed so many times and its still not right and do we really have only to the 18th to get this right? The time needs to be extended for people to work on their back pieces. If cores are removed by that date I can guarantee there will be a lot of kittened off people.
There was nothing wrong with the zerg. The real problem was not getting loot. But the 6 min achievement should be able to be gotten by zerg with origination.

Someone in another thread is claiming that one out of the 50 should kill the menders and “that will greatly increase the chance of Knights not healing.” I do not know how true that is but I will try again. However, you are right. This is nothing but a steaming heap of cow processed vegetation. The one who came up with this is probably very proud of themselves seeing how much attention it is getting.

this just happened on Blue, was at about 50%, full healed instantly. NSP server

Menders heal a percentage of max HP over time, it would seem. Given the amount of HP the knights have, that adds up really quick.

Then, it looks like the entire group should immediately kill the menders then go back to the Knight. If this is true, it will require better coordination.
Is there a group that has done this already?

The thing is none of the other Knights have to deal with this. They should just be removed from that area so it’s not a problem.

This has happened all week, 1 person out of the (up to) 50 has to keep an eye out for the menders and kill them.

Yes. If you kill them before they path to the knight all is not vain. It only takes 1 or 2. No need for the whole group to break away from the knight.

Yep, was there. Full heal, I didn’t see menders though. Maybe it was them, I don’t know, but it healed full at once. We lost of course. And since we didn’t have enough people for all knights, that was the one we had most of our people on, so we failed the event.

The menders always come from the south side of the statue (the part leading to the bridge to Fort Mariner). It’ll be a group of four or five of them. So, watch for them next time, and designate yourself as Mender Killer if you don’t see anyone else around there. It could very well be something else causing them to heal, but hell if I know. Bleh.

If you are attacking the menders, does it prevent them from healing? If the heal happens instantly from 50 – 100% do you just have to do an interrupt?
Yes, I understand that this was probably missed by most when there is a zerg on blue so it did not matter that much in previous days – I did not have this problem before on blue.

Yes, the blue Knight has the menders, but the Red Knight has a lot of roaming mobs and events near it that can wreak havoc as well. The only easier mob is the green one. If you can not handle the Red or Blue, take the green and let others worry about the aggro mobs and heals. It can be done with coordination on all sides.

I just watched a mender heal a normal mob. It doesn’t heal instantly to full. It jabs the target a few times, each time recovers a good chunk of hp (15-20% ?). If the knight healed from 40% → 100% instantly, then I’m not sure it was a mender.
Seems odd something like that would be uncapped, but after this week, nothing about those knights would surprise me.

a recovery of 20% with 3 menders equals those 60%. it might not have been a single one but more than 3.

Yep, just had a run on overflow where blue knight healed instantly. It doesn’t seem to be menders causing it.
They keep patching the full heal issue, obviously it is not meant to be part of the fight.. yet it still happens. Last patch had a hotfix for it but it’s not working.

The mendors spawn every 2 mins they have a potential to heal the boss 5-6 times in a fight.

I keep seeing this excuse, IT IS NOT THE MENDERS that are causing the bug we’re discussing. We have been fighting the menders for over 2 weeks, we should all be fully aware of their abilities by now, IT IS IN THEIR NAME… There are 5 of them with a 20%(??) heal on touch ability, 5*20=100% health. If you let them near the zerg they will rush to fight, then they will see that Blue is damaged and rush to it and heal it.
BTW it takes one Ele/zerker with the ice bow aoe to take them out. I always pay attention to them and take them out when I’m on blue.
The bug we’re discussing in most of these threads is the one that Anet said was patched with the latest update which has been proven afterwards to not be true.

Actually, tonights patch notes mention all of the Knights, not just the blue one, so I do not think that is what they were referring to.

were u aware their respawn time is 2 mins. And thier path froma th2 min spawn window correlates directly to where the blue knight spawns. People are just flat out not paying attention is all it is. And it only takes one mendor to heal the boss let alone 5. Thier is plenty of time to kill them before they get even remotely close to the fight as they spawn on the other side of the courtyard.

Thats how it done. And honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if ANET wasn’t aware what was happening in their own game. Wouldn’t be the 1st time.

More were attacking the menders so they were out of the way quickly. It looked like they spawned more than once.

It’s been a lot longer than 2 weeks since we were introduced to menders. In fact, everyone that doesn’t know their special ability by now is either a new player or has never left the zerg. Unfortunately, the same can be said for most of the abilities used during the Marionette, which a lot of people didn’t know. Considering all these abilities have been encountered in solo instances, I don’t even…

You need to 2 players on mender killing/aggro duty.
If you do this, stops the healing.
Just (as usual) poorly explained (ie…not explained at all) by Anet.

In theory that is a great way to teach players and introduced mechanics. The only problems is that in this case under normal circumstances the menders are mostly irrelevant since they usually die so quickly and often as a side effect of you fighting the other mobs. You don’t actually see them healing things up all that often.
