So my Asuran personal story took me through Garrenhoff, where we first helped apprehend Canach.

I’m just wondering, do people think he will burn with Lion’s Arch or end up being one of the heroes by ushering helpless citizens to safety?

Considering he has been painted as a bit of a misguided hero – he’s definitely going to be helping. They’ve kind of lined him up to be a good guy and his most recent dialogue sort of indicates that they have bigger plans for him. They aren’t likely to kill him off because at this stage that wouldn’t really be either shocking or sad.

He’s getting moved to Vigil’s Keep.

All essential services that are unique to Lion’s Arch will be redirected to Vigil Keep for the time being, including Asura gates to other cities, Fractals of the Mists, and incarcerated cactus-faced troublemakers.

Like FF said, he’ll probably help retake the city, since his recent dialogue gave a lot of foreshadowing…

“Lion’s Arch justice is…flexible. My sentence can be reduced for good behavior, or someone could buy my billet and I’d be released early to work for them.”

“It’s essentially a work-release program that allows me to earn my freedom early. Most prisoners are billeted to fight in the arena, but that doesn’t appeal to me…even if I could find a buyer.”

He’s probably going to get a buyer soon.

It’s pretty clear at this point that they’re grooming him to be one of the B-iconics. Honestly though, I hope I’m wrong. Considering what he did, it’d be a bit eye roll-inducing that he gets off so light. Worse yet, I probably won’t have any say in how my character interacts with him. We’ll see what happens.

Maybe they’ll put it up to another mass player vote?

Vote for Canach and get a karka-filled fractal… Or vote against him and get something better?

Well we already have a Charr (Rox), Norn (Braham), Asura (Taimi) and Human with Mesmer love interest (Marjory). So Canach probably fills the missing spot on the replacement Destiny’s Edge roster to assist in LA.

Canach is part of the asuran PS now? I only remember going to Garenhoff with my asura to free Professor Gorr.
Someone should update the wiki then.

No, Canach has nothing to do with the Asura PS. There’s just a part in one of the Asura personal story missions that takes place in Garenhoff, which the OP remembered from the living story release where we went to the same town while investigating the karka crisis.

He’s probably going to get a buyer soon.

The buyer will be either the player, or Marjory/Kasmeer.

“We’re in dire straits here. I’ll buy your billet, and you’ll fight to defend Lion’s Arch and help get the refugees out.”

Something like that.

Vhaewyn – Level 80 Sylvari Ranger
Dakka Warforge- Level 80 Charr Engineer
Xairro – Level 80 Asura Revenant

Or Kiel pulls the “good behavior” card after getting him to help in some way. Maybe getting the karka to fight on our side for a change? I would not mind seeing clockwork vs karka fights (from a safe vantage point, that is).

Oh, right lol
Thanks for the explanation. I was quite confused.

Canach is by far my favourite character of the whole game. According to that massive interview (can’t get the link right now), he is going to be transferred to the Vigil Keep along with everything else.
I wonder if his bird cage is going with him xD

Or Gnashblade could buy him as an asset in the situation at hand.

I personally hope they won’t go with the template of a member from each race in the team, it’s way too predictable to be especially exciting :P

Well, now they’ll have two humans and a golem and a devourerer
Completely different from two asura and a golem and a wolf

Idk, honestly I think Canach would be a pretty good addition to the LS hero lineup, he’d be a good counterbalance to the bubbly goody-goody types. Canach’s a guy who means well but can be very ruthless, it’d be nice to have a hero who isn’t lawful-good all the time.
