The [sigil of fire] flame blast animation is proportional to the NPCs size. The hologram is big enough for the flame blast animation to cover the whole battle field and your screen. When there are many people in the zerg making use of this rune, the flames will flash on and off frequently. Please be cautious during the fight and try your best to refrain from using [sigil of fire] weapons.

A couple of the Orr cathedral fights are bad that way too. To be honest, I can’t imagine an epileptic being able to play this game.

Yet it’s possible! And for the most part, I quite enjoy it.

Ya, like Dwayna. That sigil ruins many fights.

I like this fight, but anet should of covered their butts and warned people that “A certain fight mechanic may cause seizures, you were warned”

Thanks for bringing this up. I’ve mentioned it a couple of times already, but we need an option to increase the field of view and to be able to disable or reduce particle effect as well. Implementing these options needs to be treated as a priority period.

So that’s what this is. I thought it was a graphical bug as I get it at the Dwayna fight sometimes.
This is something that would be lovely if it got fixed. Really hurts the eyes and makes it hard to see what’s going on on the screen.

I lol’d at reading this since I was talking with my guildmate about this exact topic last night. What can people do though? It’s not like you can take your sigil out in the middle of a fight (even though there does seem to be a distance where you are considered out of combat. Definitely helpful in a multi-stage boss encounter.) But yes please adjust the hologram accordingly. I couldn’t see anything and it was because players were earnestly trying to harm her like we are supposed to!
I don’t have epilepsy, but I know a decent amount of fellow gamers do. I’ve seen IRL friends have seizures so I want to make sure my favorite MMO isn’t harming anyone. I’m glad I could see a comment from someone who copes with the condition that didn’t have any triggering issues with the boss fight. Thanks Ceridwen!
There were lots of bugs and issues with this patch so I purposefully stayed away from the forums for a few hours because…well I don’t know, I suppose I’m just not really into forum tears anymore. Not into shedding them, not into reading about them. I know there was another patch an hour before I logged off, so hopefully the encounter goes well this time.

Yeah, it was pretty bad, visually. Couldn’t concentrate on anything with all the flashing, colorful lights everywhere…and you didn’t even need people with runes for that.
Apart from that, it WAS pretty epic ^^

An option for this would be outstanding, and I agree it is needed. Way way too much going on, that it becomes hard to focus or see anything in the battles besides a mash of color on my screen.

Agh! No! Sorry! I have not done the fight at all, as OP made another thread of the same nature in the other LW forum. I read that and decided not to do it, given some of the other aspects of the game have bugged me a bit! Sorry for any misunderstanding!
Edit! That thread was this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/lwd/EPILEPSY-WARNING-DURING-SCARLET-FIGHT/first#post3718918

Flashy Lighteffects can be dizzy making to everyone if they continue too long. Thats why i Dont use builds with overly flashy lighteffects like the air line of an elementalist and i didnt use ray of judgement back in the gw 1 days on the monk more than necessary). And if they are casted by multiple players you cant even see whats happening (uh where has that boss gone?). Its just like the use of the bfg in oldschool shooter quake 3 (for those who may remember that game from long ago) .

I would highly recommend the Devs consider the lesson we learned from the 90’s Pokemon anime. Lots of continuous flashing lights on the screen is not good on the eyes. In the Scarlet battle, having to deal with tons of AOE and various flying unicorns are one thing, but the roaming holograms that act like walking strobe lights was a bit overboard. Not sure if this was a graphical glitch or a bug, but I do know that other people in my Team Speak were complaining about the same thing, so I know it’s not just me.
I know the Devs can’t undo this, but please consider it for future content. The effects make sense for what they represent, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the combinations of flashing lights is painful.

A person prone to seizures confirmed that he had no problems to play this content, but due to the inherent randomness human anatomy encompasses, your point stands regardless.

This issue has been raised many times before and I’m disappointed that it has not become a priority issue for anet. I think we should send some pms to the dev team requesting these improvements.

its law that all video games must have this warning on box. so Anet doesn’t need to release these warnings with content, due to the fact that ITS ON THE BOX you buy, and most likely in the content you have to accept in the digital version.
