With the upcoming battle at Lion’s Arch, we’re going to need a true leader! Evon Gnashblade has proven to everyone that he’s the true hero of LA, and I predict he’ll be saving the city for a second time. Councilwoman Kiel on the other hand will probably just ask our hero characters to do all her work, allowing her to plot her next evil moves. That said, it’s time for #Team Gnashblade to take up arms.

People had a chance to vote for him to be that leader….but instead voted for some airheaded human girl with an ugly hologram.

I voted for Evon even though I played an asura, because he was the right charr for the job. Kiel belongs in divinity’s reach, not in a city founded by cut-throats and brigands. Lions arch has gone soft and deserves the kicking it is about to receive.

(A kicking dispensed by actual pirates, the aetherblades, which is doubly fitting).

Kiel is bad. The only reason she’s got votes is for the bonuses devs decided to give with her.

Evon is the right Charr. And again, I would laugh my kitten off if a Charr takes command and rules over what was a major human city.

You mean running with his innocent tail between it’s legs to save -that- from burning? Though in his defence: He does let other people run ahead….but is that intentional or because he is just slow?

Evon doesn’t run from anyone. He runs towards them with open arms. All heroes are welcoming to their beloved citizens. And when there’s danger, Mr. E works behind the scenes to make sure evil doesn’t win.

Evon doesn’t run from anyone. He runs towards them with open arms. All heroes are welcoming to their beloved citizens. And when there’s danger, Mr. E works behind the scenes to make sure evil doesn’t win.

The only reason Evon would be running towards the invading army is because he’s always worked for Scarlet. Everything he does is to help her in her plans.

That attitude is so un-Evon.

He needs to survive so that he can use all his wealth (which I hope he’s gotten clear of LA, given that he’s been expecting an attack) to buy up the ruined remains of LA on the cheap.

Then, once we’ve driven Scarlet off, the city starts to rebuild. The Captains’ Council looks down on him again, and then he pulls out all the deeds… and tells them to get the kitten out of his town.

I already knew who wrote this before I even looked at the posters name :P

I think people now realize where the Living Story went because they voted Kiel. LA wouldn’t have been destroyed if Evon was on the Council, since he would have had anti-air cannons in place before he even took his seat. That’s what a well trained Warband leader would do – plan ahead.

Incorrect the Living Story would still have the same end result we just be given alternative clues to Scarlet’s plans through the Fractal about Abaddon’s Fall. Also he’s only leader of his warband, if they still exist, simply because he killed his predecessor. Be thankful Evon lost and was spared from looking like a complete embarrassment to the Ash Legion.

Depends whether he still answers to them. Having a member on the council would be a great asset to the Ash Legion.

Sadly, her hands are tied by inept bureaucracy of the Council that refuses to acknowledge the severity of the situation. However, with the help of her old Lionguard pals and the trusty adventurers, she’ll lessen the amount of damage and casualties. This will, of course, only add to her influence and reputation.

If he was going to build a defence force, it’d probably be sitting on the other end of the Black Citadel gate waiting for the all-clear. Wouldn’t be much chance of getting that into LA during peacetime.

More excuses from Gnashblade supporters. Isn’t the Ash Legion about spies and assassins? They could easily be placed in the city and act on a moments notice.

It’s not his fault no-one heeded his warning when he started talking about an impending attack on Lion’s Arch months before anyone else did.

He tried to get Lion’s Arch to prepare, Kiel was busy bully Dessa.

Evon and I have not always seen eye-to-eye (“Where’s my Black Lion Tickets, Evon?!”), but this is your chance to prove your worth to me, Gnashblade. Take up your blade and fight beside us! For Lion’s Arch!

If he does create a defense force with his wealth and influence, I’m hoping for them to be the “Black Lionguard”.

It’s posts like this that made me happy I voted for Kiel, if Evon had won we would have had a competent person in office who would’ve had defenses! Why have that when you could have the chaos an unprepared Kiel causes?

I suspect Evon is a scarlet collaborator. In the midst of the chaos, he will absconded with all the items from the trading post and disappeared. He already prepared a total makeover kit to assume a new identity.

Just like Evon said~ Kiel is going to get everyone killed.
Hopefully Evon will set things right.

The entire console was against defenses we learned this in the recent living story. I doubt Evon would have had any more sway then Keil.

I’m certain Even has spent his time worrying about the destruction of Lion’s Arch to move the majority of hit operations to a safe place. You can see him pacing in and out of the BLTC all the time, probably looking out for hit couriers and shipments. No need for heroism in the face of danger, Evon is a hero for keeping the BLTC up and the champions of Tyria well stocked.

Evon would have prepared Lion’s Arch for such a disaster! He protects his interests and all of those interests are n Lion’s Arch!

Any chance Taimi will come in her giant golem to save the day?

There’s no sense sending an army into LA when they’ve got a better garrison in the Black Citadel.

Evon Gnashblade is the Steve Jobs of Tyria. He’s full of hot air, like Jobs, leads one of the biggest companies in the world, like Jobs and has a horde of mindless followers who proclaim him Jesus whenever they get the chance, like Jobs.

I’m glad I voted for Kiel, not because she’s so much greater (I did it because I wanted cheaper waypoint travel because that’s what was most interesting for me at the time, and I wanted to know what happened to the reactor – Gnashblade just didn’t offer me anything interesting) but because Gnashblade supporters are just annoying as hell.

This Evon vs Kiel business is getting worse than this whole Horde vs Alliance thing..

I don’t know what’s more upsetting to me, the fact that Evon is running for his life (Cause I quite like him and he better not die) or the fact that he’s running for his life in the opposite direction of what was once the Trading Post area in LA.

I find it funny how Evon’s supporters actually believe he would do anything notable if he had won. The Living Story isn’t as expansive and elaborate as they like to think. In the end the election was simply who they wished to see become a embarrassment to their race. I don’t fault them for being hopeful that Evon will get this cool or even epic role now that he didn’t win the election, perhaps he’ll be the one who will bail out that Sylvari and recruit him as a “special” member of his warband.

Evon will charge the innocents of LA 15% tax before he’d even lift a single whisker in their defence. If he were ever to mobilise and form a defence, they would aptly be called “Black Guards.” The only good Gnashblade is a dead one and judging by the trailer, “Mr. E” might just be killed while he scurries to escape with his bags of gold weighing him down.
