It brought up an actual good point. What if Evon has been funding Scarlet this entire time. Or at the least, been working with her. He has known for quiet some time that an attack on Lions Arch was coming. How would he know such information? He was talking about this back during Winters Day.

It seems strange that Evon would know what’s coming well before anyone else in Tyria did and also did nothing to prevent it.

Personally I’d go with the consortium funding scarlett, even if it’s indirectly.

They profitted directly from all the flame and frost issue, allowing them to get practically free workers for their new paradise vacation on an island dangerous enough that no voluntary workers would likely to go to, unless paid a lot of money.

They got access to advanced portal technology (the portal to the fractals of the mysts) and who knows what else they might have under wraps. Not to mention that while they do have interests in Lion’s Arch (like the fractals portal), their main HQ doesn’t seem to be in the city, instead they just placed a gift shop there with minimal crew working on it.

It would be bad business for Evon to be backing her. So, he wouldn’t, it’s as simple as that.

The Consortium? Yeah, maybe. I could see that. But not Evon.

Not because he’s good, or heroic. But because it would simply be stupid for him to back her.

Actually, it’s a terrible point. You can’t profit from ruined property that no-one wants to live on, and his trading company doesn’t work without traders. He’s going to have to move the BLTC to where the people are.

Evon might as well shoot himself in the foot then, all his investments are based in LA.

Evon doesn’t want to have to deal with the Pirates. They already make things tough enough as it is. What better way to get rid of them, than to organize an attack and thus relocate the BLTP to somewhere that will make it easier for him to make more profits.

It makes sense.

Pirates are his best customers in LA – he knows how to keep them on side. And the BLTC has branches in every major city in Tyria, plus several trading outposts. He’s got it sorted.

And when the pirates have to move from LA, he’s moving with them. Because unlike a certain someone on the Captain’s Council, it’s people that matter to him, not the ground they’re living on.

At least, until he starts dealing in real estate.

He’s been saying she’s likely to attack Lions Arch for a while now – and is angry that nobody has listened. Not to mention he runs the BLTP which has its base of operations in LA – he loses out if it gets destroyed.
