The living story zerg fest, run in a circle and kill mobs and repeat all day, has finally become a normal part of the game.

Nothing bad about it but I seem to be missing the point of it? oh yes, Achievement points.

If people want to rescue the amount of citizens needed for the highest tier of rewards, they need to specifically avoid big zergs, as that both upscales events to the point where they take too long to complete, and takes away players from other parts of the city reviving and rescuing the random stragglers.

The content isn’t even 24 hours yet. People are currently taking what seems to be the path of least resistance. In time, they’ll evolve and start doing what’s needed to save more citizens, you’ll see less of the big zergs, and everyone will get more loot.

And what is stopping you from going solo or in a 5 man team and doing other points?

Don’t hate on farmers because they like to farm.

This exactly. The bigger the Zerg, the lower the rescued citizen score. Just convincing five to ten people to break off solo and rescue as many citizens as possible through the event greatly increases the number of citizens saved. I’m actually really pleased with how Anet has discouraged Zergs with this release. Honestly, the Marionette battle did a good job, too. Still had to have a lot of people, but they had to be organized and evenly distributed to succeed. Escape from LA is more so.

I think that’s a little silly. The Living Story has had all kinds of different types of content, and even this specific chapter of the living story offers tons of stuff besides some non-mandatory grind. But every time there are events that people enjoy farming (which is actually a very convenient opportunity to make some extra money that we should be thankful for) there are people who whine about “omg anet y r u make so much zerg fest / grind fest!!!!!11”

Well how was I suppose to know we can do this in a 5 man team? I just follow the commander tag outside the portal and enter LA.

I also looked at the LFG tool in game and didn’t see any parties for the LS….

But anyways….If it can be done it smaller groups and it scales properly then that is great….Most of the previous LS stuff never scaled properly so I guess people don’t want to party up….

Don’t be a sheep, I’m sure the commander didn’t know any more than you did when the event first started.

Not zerging has actually given me more loot bags than zerging.

I’m hoping after the initial days of when people get bored of zerging and little loot gain, it’ll develop more into solos and havoc groups.

If it is the bags, then it is only good for the first couple of days until they nerf it. I actually picked up 2 exotics from 1 hour of zerg’ing last night which I was very surprised.

If the reward doesn’t get nerfed because they realize it is messing up the inflation then I am OK with it. But we have seen many times that the reward gets nerfed after the first hours days.

Like I thought, total rehash of previous “living” stories. Not even a bit different but exact the same. *yawn.
