I thought we covered it last time in Scarlet’s Invasion with the map invasion participation that this was a terrible idea.

This achievement “Please Follow Me to the Exit” has 6 objectives that you need to complete before you get the achievement. Similiar to the Scarlet Invasion map participation, you could take part in something, get 1/6 then do the next day and completely forget what you’ve already sucessfully participated in.

Starting off it won’t be that bad. But later one once you are on 4/6 and have lost track, you will be wasting quite a bit of time trying to figure out which one of the objectives you didn’t successfully take part in.

It should have just been spread out into mini achievements for 1 point each instead.

Pen and paper aren’t that helpful during chaotic zergs where it’s hard to really tell what’s going on.
Like Groonz said, it should really have been split into multiple achievements. I understand what they’re going for – but their systems don’t support it well.

I play a game on my computer, having to open a spreadsheet and keep track of which toon has what crafting at 500, what dungeon path is finished, and what freaking mini event i have or haven’t done is really annoying. Pen and paper … are you kidding me?

You could try….remembering things. It has worked wonders for me.

People lost track of achievs because they start doing something before they check availible achievs. What i always do after an update is to check the list of achievements, read all of them slowly, understand what they could be and then… start having fun with the content. That way i can keep track of them from my memory ^^

There is this thing called google, im not sure if you know of it, but it can help a lot.

When life gives you lemon, ask if its from a anime or manga.

Most of these events pop several times during the invasion, I lost track to, so you know what I did? I did almost all of them in one run it was ungodly easy. Found out I needed Moa’s and Lawson, so my next two events where Moa’s and Lawson, problem solved ~_~

How does Google help you remember which escort events you have already done?

I have no problem with sub-checklists to achievements and would support it. I won’t die without it, but it would be a nice added convenience

I agree…I’m at 4/6 and I’m not sure which ones I still need. I’ve been present at all of them, but don’t have credit for two, but I can’t tell which. It’s a little annoying.

Not difficult to write down the list and check them off as you complete them. Even during the most hectic battles, a simple mark by the list item is still easy to make.

Nah, that’s way too much effort. It’ll also break immersion and lower the fun, exciting atmosphere. Let’em have his convenience. There’s really no reason to not add what he’s asking and it’s a perfectly justified thing to ask for.

Pen and paper are your friends

You’re murdering my Sylvari’s friends to make that paper.

No less immersion as reading guides or going online for builds. Unless you were referring to the immersion that TC does.

I usually use my memory. There is enough ingame information to make recognition of previously completed events possible.

This was worse in the first day or two, when several of the events weren’t giving credit. Remembering what you’ve run is easy. Remembering which one didn’t give you that umpteen thousandth gold medal, however, can be problematic.

I should be writing.

doesn´t change the fact that the game is keeping track of those subachievements and could as well display them. If you think having a piece of paper lying around for weeks (eg. Dungeon Master achievements) is reasonable, in 2014 when I cannot remember the last time I wrote anything down in the kitten office, well…

^You can also write it down in a .txt-file and save it on your desktop. That’s what I did for the invasions.

However, for the events this time I didn’t need to, because when I’ve actually noticed that achievement, I remembered which of those events I’ve not done yet; simply because I knew “Hm, I’ve not even seen Lawson Marriner even once since I’m playing this game, so I know I did not escort him yet”. Or “I’ve done children and Dolyaks multiple times, but I know that I didn’t escort any Moas yet”.
