Guess what? now it’s more unfair.

The “In Tune” and “No More Tricks, Scarlet” achievements are no longer awarded to players that leave the Prime Hologram encounter before it is completed.

Scarlet has activated additional defenses on the Breachmaker during the Prime Hologram encounter. Thirty seconds into the battle, lasers will target the areas near the entrance portal and the elevator leading to the Breachmaker’s interior. Being hit by these attacks will count against the “No More Tricks, Scarlet” achievement.

Yet again, it’s harder to get the achievements for people that haven’t get them yet.
My proposal is either take off those achievements from everyone or either make this “bugfixes” before releasing the LS.

Let me quote from “Polished Content?” thread.

We’ll use the longer break to spend extra time to ensure that our final four releases are as polished and exciting as possible.

I think the “longer break” you didn’t take in polishing the game, but in holidays. It’s ok, it’s normal. Everyone has the chance to get holidays for christmass/new year. But at least don’t lie.

i will add also a thing: can’t we actually get into the home server as we click travel to home when in overflow?
Because, it’s very irritating to click thinking to get to home, and get the last overflow with nobody…
What is the purpose of this window if it’s doesn’t work properly…

Good thing I completed the No More Tricks achievement a few hours before the latest patch. After 19 Scarlet kills I got fed up of failing the achi because of the bugged scorchmarks (doing damage for about 3 seconds after the visuals have disappeared, making you have to guess whether it’s safe to move or not) and joined those skirting on the sidelines. This tactic awarded me the achi on the 20th run and at that point I couldn’t care less about how legitimate it was.

The In Tune one was managable for me but then again I’m playing a somewhat defensive guardian so I never got downed and had a couple of single target skills to use. I offer my condolences to rangers, necromancers and mesmers who can’t get it (or the No Tricks one) due the useless pet / minion / phantasm AI that can not be controlled but counts towards the achi.

People would not have to resort to cheap tricks if the encounter was not bugged and the achievements did not promote avoidance instead of active participation. Want to give us a challenge while encouraging teamwork?

Try something like “Elemental Denial – do X number of combo field attacks to each elemental hologram with the correct attunement on” or “Invisible But Not Invincible – make X amount of mini holograms vulnerable by kiting them into Scarlet’s rainbow field and then kill them” which both promote awareness, teamwork and tactical play.

My wife will love this. She always tends to be one step behind with stuff like this, and this is no exception. It means she will again lose out on achievements simply because Anet only fixes the exploits instead of the reasons for said exploits.

If you could actually get the achievements normally, there would be no need for this.

Also, you’d think a developer would reconsider an achievement/event once they made a list of things that players should avoid. There was this developer that literally stated that you should bring no AoE, no dots, no pets, no clones and no retaliation.

What does that leave us with? A rifle warrior? And what else?

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

Everything. If you feel you’re not capable of controlling your character, simply don’t attack anything and only focus on avoiding the lasers. It’s really not that hard.

Or..you know….don’t do them?
I mean really it’s not that important to complete all the achieve….can’t do it, don’t do it. I think this is perfectly fair and what should have been there in the first place.
There should be anywhere “safe” from those lasers.

(btw, I haven’t got it either … ..and I won’t be. ~shrugs~ )
