So as we all know, we obtain the blade shards to create our back piece, along with some other crafting materials (some that are only account bound) which makes me wonder…after the Battle of Lion’s Arch ends and we move on to the epilogue, what happens to these items? Will they be altered so that they are available to sell on the TP for other players to buy if they were not able to do so before; or will they just stay how they are now (account bound) and that will be the end it of it?

Highly likely to stay account bound. Blade Shards will be tradeable for other things post-March 18th one dev posted, they just haven’t said what for yet.

We can probably hand them in for something like Alliance Bags. I doubt we’ll actually get anything meaningful to spend them on.

Especially considering so many of us have deleted thousands or even tens of thousands of them. If they started allowing us to cash them in for T6 mats, people would be… upset.

I have been getting shards from my watchwork node, which makes me think they will be around a while.

Actually i have a small problem, i have the exotic blades backpiece, and the recipe (or rather the items to get it) needed to upgrade it to ascended, half of the items needed to change it’s color, but i got 0 crafting skills. Is it safe to assume that i will be able to upgrade them anytime later or it may not work? Lacking experience and playtime on this game is not like i could rush a skill to 500 till the end of the event (i don’t have gold for such).

It is safe to assume you can upgrade it later. The only thing that will likely go is the vendor with the gift of blades, but u can also buy that from the Mystic Forge vendor anyway.

Being kinda new it is hard to get gold (i’m just starting to get into all the dungeons/fractals stuff) so it feels a waste and angers me when i think that i could have messed up trying to get all the items without having the skill at 500 lol. Thanks :p i will get the recipe from the vendor and keep farming gold/mats so i can work on one of my skills later.

I wonder what about ascended power cores, they can spike through the rooftop if they will be usable in other things.
