Mistforged Hero Weapons
Buy the non-Mistforged weapons for 100 tickets and upgrade them with the recipe they’re giving you. It’s one non-Mistforged weapon, 4 Wines, 250 Badges of Honor (which you’ll be getting in spades if you participate in the tournament), and 10 Crystalline Dust.
That way even the lowest ranking server can have people get at least 2 weapons.
Oh i didn’t know that.
If that’s correct. Then why would anyone buy Mistforged Hero Weapons? When you can just upgrade non-Mistforged Hero Weapons. 4 Wines, 250 badges and 10 Crystalline dust is easy to get.

Gift of Heroes costs 200 tickets and 250 badges.
The purpose of this is to allow people that don’t receive 300 tickets this time, to buy one or more Hero’s Weapons, then upgrade them during the second tournament.

And the highest ranking server can get five. Because the individual players on the highest ranking server are so much better than that player on a low ranking server who played six hours a day, escorted yaks, dropped 100g on upgrades and siege, scouted, commanded and generally contributed a lot to WvW. That individual gets less than a guy who spend 1,800 gems to transfer to the highest ranking server and joined a capping group that ran circles around runes for an hour or two, creating a queue on the map and ignoring the keeps, towers, supply camps and allies.
There is something really wrong with a rewards system when what you do matters far less than what server you are on. I like these new weapons and look forward to at least one of the skins, but the way they are implementing meaningful rewards that award unearned privileges to individuals on certain servers over others who contribute and compete far more on a different server, I don’t like that.
