Thank you very much for this information. It is very courteous of you to start making this type of informational announcement for our benefit. I know many have been asking for exactly this type of information to be made available and clearly worded, and this informational announcement fits both of those requests. I look forward to this type of information to continue to be posted in the future. Thank you again!

although i appreciate such information posts i think something like that should go without saying as it is absolute standard for a company to announce changes to a software used by customers. that said no thanks from me, i usually take such things for granted.
however i am pleased to see that information distribution politics seem to change.

Agreed. This is a GREAT step forward, ANet. Please keep doing this for future temporary content items/tokens.

Its a good addition to be sure. Getting advanced notice is always nice.

HOWEVER, I think they should also make a sticky post here in this sub-forum announcing it as well. Honestly, I rarely look at the announcement forum any more (not since they moved the patch notes to another sub-forum). I don’t know what made me decide to click onto the announcement forum tonight when I jumped on the forums, but under normal circumstances I probably wouldn’t have actually seen the announcement. As said information pertains specifically to this chapter of the Living Story, it’d be nice if the info was here as well.

It seems that many, many people ignore sticky threads completely and rarely even notice that a new one has been added. That issue aside, I can see why you feel that it may be more appropriate to have future announcements of this nature be made and stickied in the appropriate temporary sub-forum for the associated chapter. I think that the News and Announcements area was chosen mainly for its visibility and that important information tends to be posted there. Unfortunately, for ANet and us, the Announcements tracker on the right of the forums has been broken for some time and had stopped updating completely. We also recently saw the Announcement tracker get wiped clean and, despite it having been reported and also being easy to see that something is wrong with it, it still has not been fixed so that it tracks these updates once again.

I don’t understand why the NPC can’t stay for another week or two. Just give the players time to turn in the goods…

Agreed. Most other temporary events have let the NPCs stay for you to exchange items for a little after the actual event.

Besides, I’m sure the citizens refugees of Lion’s Arch would like their belongings and heirlooms back.

How much time do you need to turn in goods that have already stopped dropping? Use ‘em before the event ends. You’ve got a week to think about what you want to buy. It takes literally seconds to double click on all the items you want.

The goods did not stop dropping. They will stop dropping at the same time when the npc will go.
There also could be players that planed to turn the goods on last day but something in RL prevent them to play that day.
Really don’t see a reason why a npc shouldn’t stay a little bit longer.
