No XP from tagging mobs.
Not doing enough damage? That’s usually why someone doesn’t get XP. There is a minimum threshold of damage that has to be made. Try switching to grenades and see if that helps. If you don’t have access to grenades yet, try rifle or pistols.

GROMIT,
I don’t know if you are new the game or not but what folks call tagging is more accurately described as kill credit dueling. To receive XP and qualify for a chance at loot, a player must do a certain share of damage and foes have only so many shares. The more players attacking a foe, the more competition for those shares. A low level or less well geared player can be shut out. Astral Projections advice is good advice and I would like to add another tip.
If you are participating in a group event, join or make a party. If members of a party attack the same foe, their damage is pooled more and they duel less.

I brought this to the attention of one of the in-game Devs (Nexune) that is on my contacts list and they said that it was not right and that they were bringing it to the appropriate people.
If you tag any enemies and do some kind of damage you are to get EXP no matter what from the way it sounds.
Loot is a whole other story and I didn’t mention that to them since the EXP is most important.
When I brought this to their attention, I was doing thousands of points of damage and many times taking down 50% or more of an enemy on my own before a zerg showed up to kill the enemy and was getting zero EXP. I watched my damage logs for a few days before I brought it to their attention.

Hi Ravion,
While the threshold for XP and The Loots may be different, players would still need a way to measure whether they meet that threshold. If we don’t have an indicator such as earning XP, how would a player adjust their play style to maximize The Loots?
