No more tricks [achievement]
A:
Tag the boss in the first phase and then skirt around the edges for the remainder of the fight as a reliable way to get the achievement. There’s some new anti-AFK laser that targets the personal instance entrance where people used to huddle together but you can just stay away from Scarlet and only move in either direction when there’s a laser appearing under you.
The invisible beam doesn’t fail the achi. I got it after being hit with the beam twice within the last phase. Getting damaged by a transparent bubble shield and stepping on the orange mark don’t count. The AoE bombs of Scarlet Briars can fail it. No idea about the knockback.
This is my experience after 20 successful holo kills. Then again, I heard there was another hotfix patch since the last time I logged in.
they say you should wait few seconds after the burned area disappear, but in reality, you cannot keep track of all of them, so it is more or less about luck
Some ppl say that you may not get it if you get downed, so avoid taking damage at all. As for the invisible attacks i didn’t check the log but i got them, during the last phase of the battle, when the 3 colored holograms are gone. In my case i got 3 strikes that really hurted, and shortly after i died – happened twice.
I’m not sure, and i would like if anyone could confirm it, but i think that may be the holograms ’’charge’’ attack that happens once in a while, and that i may not be able to see it because of the lag..because i’m almost sure that once, with other character, i managed to see some symbol above his head right before that lighting strike or whatever it is.
Also, i’m curious, but being hit by any of these avoid the achievement to be done?
- Stepping on the orange marks alone (that signal the incoming laser)
- The Scarlet Briar(?), that mob that goes around launching bombs and air barriers that do damage
- The knockback effect from not having the right color buff (I assume that’s why i get knocked back at least)
Anyone could clarify me this?
This still seems not to be working properly or still have invisible lasers. I’m 99.9999999% sure I’ve not been hit several times now, yet still haven’t gotten this. I’ve been incredibly careful, never been downed.. I just don’t get it.

I’ve gotten the achievement even though I:
stepped on the orange marks
got bounced by the bubble shield
was hit by the aoe launch from the prime hologram
Not sure about the others.
Still have to watch out for the invisible residual beam, wait it out for four seconds and if you really want to be safe, keep watch of someone’s HP as they are about to cross the invisible beam’s path.
You will notice a sudden drop(also daze) in their HP if the beam is still there.
[[I think the final lock-on beam attacks from the Ultraviolet hologram count against the achievement as well (when you fail to kill all the mini prime holograms and everyone gets hit with a beam)
I had a hard time dodging these even with the clear tell (the beam will focus in above your head) so I just used an invulnerability skill to avoid it.]]
Guess not, but careful not to get knocked into a beam when you get hit with it.

The platform wide attack from the large hologram that occurs if you don’t kill all of the mini holograms in time does not affect progress to getting the achievement. I was hit by it and still got it as well as many others.
So, reading up on the replies posted above we can safely conclude the achievement is not working as intended and is bugged? Bit odd, since we’re already halfway the LS event.
I personally did not complete this achievement yet, even though I was/am pretty sure that during a few attempts I did not get hit at all (with exception of the scarlet shield push attack).

It’s working fine. There’s just a lot of ways someone can fail the achievement.
I can also attest to the existence of the invisible “beam” attacks the hologram seems to be applying at random occasions. Really frustrating because I don;t know if those are the reason I keep failing the achievement
Two side questions: 1) does ranger’s pet getting hit by the lasers causes the achievement to fail? and 2) do attacks from 3 smaller holograms, and later the ultraviolet hologram count as being hit?

Ranger pets definitely do not mess it up. I got both In Tune and No More Tricks last night on my Ranger in one run, and I’m almost positive my pet ran across a beam at some point. Probably multiple times, really. Since I was using a melee pet and actually having my pet attack then calling it back when attune ran out, surely it hit a beam at some point.
The large beams the ultraviolet hologram fire are exactly the same as the prime hologram, so I assume those fail it if you get hit.
The beams the mini-holograms fire, I dunno. I didn’t get hit by any. They look different and I’m not even sure you could call them beams, more like shock blasts or something, but to be safe I’d avoid getting hit by those either. They’re pretty easy to avoid unless you have bad luck with getting surrounded, anyway.
Thanks. It’s good to know pets don’t mess up this achievement… I guess i’ll try my luck and pray not getting hit by the invisible beams
Wonder how many events have fail just because of this achievement
Another tip that’s a confirmed fact for me is that even IF you evade/dodge roll through the lasers and scorch marks without taking damage you still won’t get the achievement since you were technically in them, also to be on the safe side stay clear of the mini scarlet’s telegraphs during the last phase as well.

I’ve encountered this before. The invisible shock you are getting hit by is the after effects of the blast. Just b/c its not on your screen doesn’t mean it’s not still there. Give it about 3 seconds before you head over in that direction. It will be safe after that. Also, getting hit by the shields is fine for achievement. Got my and was hit a few times by those myself. Good luck and have fun!

Can confirm this as well, watched my pet get blasted to kingdom come and still got it. He’s a drake though, he can take it
