Hi Anet,

Just wanted to let y’all know I won’t be going through the purple thing to do the Scarlet event. I have the spinal backpiece in my inventory, but it still won’t let me in. I was planning to save the spinal back for another character and I already shelled out the 3g for the ascended recipe, and I don’t feel like grinding out another.

Cheers,

-Me

You know.. you could just make the Fine one again and soulbind it and it’ll work.

Equipping the spinal backpiece unlocks the portal for your whole account, so just give it to the one you originally wanted it to have and you will be fine.

Making the ascended one costs around 200 gold. What are 3 gold compared to 200?

The one I want it for is not level 80 yet, so no dice. He’s 54.

Fortunately, you don’t have to go through that portal. You can still enter that same instance after the battle on Scarlet’s ship.

You only need the basic one to enter the instance, just make the basic and head on in.

equip it on the other character.

All your characters should be able to enter the purple portal, even if they’re not wearing the spinal back piece. (once you get the equip achieve, it’s an account wide unlock.)

You don’t need to have the spinal things to join the scarlet event. As long as the server beats the 3 knights and then the breachmaker events, you get to scarlet without using the “shortcut” where you need spinal things.

The blue (fine) one which is enough for your purposes is wearable from level 20 onwards.

Unequip and reequip the backpiece. That should work.

If not, craft the basic blue one with lvl 20 req. Equip it on your alt if that’s your desire.

Not for Leathercrafters. :O Unless the price quadrupled.

Making the regular (blue) one cost about 5g assuming you don’t have any of the materials and buy everything on the TP (except the 25 blade shards, that is)… equip it on any of your characters (including your level 54 alt, it can be used by levels 20+), enter into scarlet’s instance.
