Omnomberry Pies
Off-topic, but my old DM’s favorite character was named Iateapi…
This is an interesting idea, adding 325 damage on 2/3 of one’s criticals throughout the whole fight. It would depend on the build. My condimancer gets better effect from rare pizza for those times when conditions go through.
It’d be easy to test. Lay out a tray and see what happens. Most people won’t even need to be prompted to partake.
OP, it’s a good thought and I actually carry a tray at all times. I’ve been looking into what Feast’s I can share with the map. Since it’s getting annoying to see so many without food buffs.
I’m assuming most players are in PTV or other gear not spec’d for high crit chance or damage. Thus, I wonder how often this would proc the 325 life steal. More than likely it wouldn’t be frequent enough to overcome the power scaling benefits of power/crit foods. “Feast of Truffle Steak” for 100 power & 80 precision, also a “Pot of Butternut Squash Soup” for 80 precision & 8% crit, are likely the best options.
During the condition reflection stage, damage is low
I’d just like to say, my Ranged auto is about 2k with my better attacks about 6k. Our DPS isn’t that bad if we choose the right profession and build. That’s why 325 from life steal isn’t much of a benefit. Unless people are Zerker or Assassin geared.
I’m assuming most players are in PTV
I hope not. Why would you need survival gear in this fight? I’d hope that more people are running Berserker gear or something like it.

Only Anet may know what build composition is on a map at any given time. I never wished to see a gear inspect function in game. At the moment though, I’d be really curious to see what everyone on map is running. Considering I’ve seen people without any food or utility buffs. Then some I’ve seen running cheap magic find food. Then the best of the worst was two running naked during the Holo fight yesterday. It’s shameful people would troll the event like that. Either being too cheap to pay for armor repair or simply to be obnoxious. But, if people are taking the event so lightly, it wouldn’t surprise me at all that people aren’t running Zerker builds. Honestly, except for a small portion of the player base, I wonder how many are actually running specific builds at all.
I noticed this too when my necro minion was stealing life, it can ignore hologram invu.

Hahaha which world? That could be me, it shows how much I care about this zerg fest event

Potentially helpful against the blue hologram (which ignores physical damage). Does it work against the main one during the first stage of the fight? Minion health steal is pretty bad, but it does allow you to do something while you’re running around looking for attunements.
It does for sure work against knights reflect conditions…getting rdy to test vs holos… and yes, even vs blue holo with shield up, and hitting for 0 it does work

A friend and I have been having fun seeing whom can hit the holo the hardest. He’s winning with a 15k and I’m in the mid 13k range for our one shared skill. I was taking screen shots and figured out one of my Prime Light Attunement rotations. In the 45 seconds it last, I hit the holo for a total of 443,000 damage. That’s blowing my elite too but, I only went into the portal with 16 stacks of bloodlust. So, I can do better still. Though I’m hoping it illustrates why I’m saying the 325 points from life steal isn’t the best option.
