Q:

Now that the event has been delayed to the middle of the night EU time, we could do with knowing something. I know it might spoil some elements of what ANet have planned, but it matters.

The key thing is, the event, is it going to be like the Karka invasion? Like something which happens, and then is over and done with? As it’s now been put at an inhospitable time for us Euro players, we kinda need to know whether we should consider staying up to the early hours, or just see what has happened tomorrow. Will we lose out by doing this?

Very good question. If it’s like a Karka invasion thing then it’s really really unfair.

It will not be like the Karka invasion, they learned not to do events like that. It will most likely be an instance as soon as you enter the map, like the Kessex Hills instance with the tower. They have confirmed on twitter that you won’t miss a thing if you can’t log in right at the update.

If it goes live right at the start of the afternoon. Conversely, 4:45 could be argued to be late afternoon, and that’d be near midnight.

My question seems to have been answered though, thanks all!

according to one of the interviews that read just awhile ago everyone currently in LA will be “Evacuacted from LA zone” after updating their client so by this im assuming that you will just join the instance its all going on in. def looks like no event like the karka one and nobody misses out as was stated on twitter

If you remember the beginning of the Nightmare Tower where entering Kessex Hills triggered an instance? Probably the same set-up upon entering (or logging-in within) Lion’s Arch.

Not a time sensitive event.

I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Someone asked on twitter if they’d miss anything if they couldn’t come on till later and were told no.
