Remove Loot!
Congrats for going against every single concept of loot in every MMO in history. You’re such a genius….
well then this event is pointless because no1 doing what should be doing and that is search and rescue civilians ,loot from bags is crap anyway!
Remove loot from mobs and champs and give reword on the end of event depending on how many civilians we saved!
This is too extreme and probably counterproductive.
If all the reward would be given at the end of the evacuation, then we will have to deal with a lot of people semi-AFK or looking for rubble (in order to get selfless/thoughtless potions) that would be equally rewarded.
What needs to be achieved is a better adjustment between intended goals and possible rewards.
If, for example, the activity is not supposed to encourage zerging, then event spawned mobs and champs should probably get their loot removed, with the events themselves granting some kind of reasonable, unscaling, reward.

Read some of the other threads on this topic. There are great ideas there for how this could have been done differently so that everybody is happy and the event is done as intended. Short answer is to make reviving citizens a rewarding job.
1) Give loot for reviving citizens similar to what can be gained through zerg
2) Add an achievement for saving citizens that is tiered (honestly am shocked this wasn’t in there)
3) Give ingame indication when we have reached another tier of the event (such as the miasma notices except saying something like “Good start 100 people saved, keep this up” and give for each tier achieved)

NO. I was so happy they added loot to this LA. If they removed loot, it WOULD NOT BE WORTH PLAYING.
Please do not remove loot. In fact, add loot back into EVERY OTHER EVENT YOU DO.
Removing loot was not the answer.

1) Giving loot for reviving doesn’t make sense as they still need to actually get out of the city. I revive people all the time, but more often it’s a distraction for the mobs near by who attack them over me because I’m trying to find rubble.
2) Yes, it should be simple enough to determine if you interacted with a citizen/revived a citizen and they also escaped. So this would be good.
3) This already exists in the form of the chest and event notification that occurs and tells you which tier you just reached.

One potential solution could be to have each event reward loot. Have like some small chest handed out to each player after each event that they clear, instead of or in addition to the enemies dropping loot themselves.

The important thing here is the mobs don’t drop “loot.” They drop event bags, and only some of them do. Most of the basic level mobs don’t drop anything. The event bags can contain loot but they primarily contain event items for turning in for loot.
Only the Champions drop anything better.
So I would say this is working just fine.

This thread brings me to the question why everyone can buy the “Selfless Potion”. Why not make it a requirement to free X Villagers so you’re allowed to buy it? I can see that people running around with the zerg are also helping by stopping miasma, but actually they’re running around to get loot, so they shouldn’t be allowed to buy the Selfless Potion.
Leave it the way it is, the one time i go around saving civilians it bugs and i get no extra credit. I personally think it was the games message to me to stop being helpful and get more bags. I saved 100+ civis for nothing >.>

The loot is 100% fine.
Fight Miasma, save citizens. Wash and repeat.
It’s honestly not hard and every time I’ve done the event it’s been fun and rewarding. That’s just about all I want in a game…

Well I understand what he is trying to do. But there should be unique items at 1000,1500 civilians saved. Removing loot is never good, adding special rewards I think is better.
You do get unique rewards at 1500 civilians saved though.. You get a better chance at the rare items from previous LS events.

Loot is fine. You’ll earn MORE loot from doing the event properly. Let those that don’t understand have their couple bits of blues/greens. I’d rather win the event for better rewards.

It’s just a farming event now, people do not care about getting citizens resqued like the did not care for the invasion event to win. The just want to farm bags :/
Zergs would still exist anyway. They would ‘farm’ the end-of-event rewards until they managed to get all their achievements, then they’d quit.
So the people who actually want to play to PLAY will not be able to do the event.
I play MMOs to be rewarded. Heck, I play ANY game to be rewarded. I love the story, of course, but it’s not fun for me if there’s not something to work toward. I have absolutely loathed the events where no loot drops.

Problem is, those mindless people running in zergs to get loot, STILL get the meta event reward, that you worked hard for by saving civilians.
It’s all backwards, those people who are most selfish, running in zergs just to tag mobs and champions, and the guys speedrunning for the heirlooms found in the rubble, gets the most rewards. Not the guys sticking out to save civilians and increase the meta reward.
get one bag of loot for every citizen rescued.
1- add a counter with “your contribution”;
2- at the end of the event every hour give as many bags as contribution (or more bags x contribution).

don’t see what the issue. there are only so many you can save at a time till we’re running around aimlessly looking for a respawn to save. The champions if anything draw people in to do events which reveals more people to be saved at the end and also adds some to the list (20’s believe) so the way I see it, champions are good here. motivation to complete events quickly to get the loot and run over to the next one.
If I had to fault the whole thing its expecting us to reach 1,500 people to get the big prize
while I partially agree, I do believe it should be a mix of civilians saved and events completed. Do both and your end reward is good. Do one and not the other, and your rewards suck.

A horrible idea. Even though the event has us saving civilians, you are better off just running champs and escorting the kids out of town.
