Selfless Potion

Nobody will know until the weekend most likely.
Nobody will know until the weekend most likely.
By which time it is probably too late to start grinding for it.
Really sloppy on Anet’s part imo.

Come on, man.
Perhaps he has a long week next week with funeral arrangements, or vacation, or has some significant things happening in life which makes these next few days very relevant.
Reset daily? Sure. Which means, once qgain, only people who are able to play 8.3 of the days and only focus on rubble will achieve. Why can’t he have an opinion that that is sloppy?
I personally don’t care. But stop with these attacks man.
Don’t Heirlooms also drop from the Supply Bags and citizen rewards? Or is that the Found Belongings and I’m mixed up? Because I got 12 Heirlooms and only 7 rubble piles searched.

You can call it sloppy, I call it fair. There are rewards that not everyone is going to get unless you want to dedicate the time for it.
If are unwilling to put x hours over the next 4 weeks, then you do not deserve the item. It’s as simple as that.
If you want everything easy to get, then what’s the point of playing?
Grats, you are eligible to get a selfless potion for one heirloom! Click on that rubble near Gendarran portal and you’re done! We’re done the content, let’s come back in 2 weeks and repeat the same thing.

Then say that. Don’t just growl at people.
Heirloom supply from anywhere but rubble is horrendously low. And since there are 36 rubble locations in LA, if you want both potions, you have to do it daily every day for all 14 days of the event for 504 heirlooms. Maybe knock a few days off since you get ~2 from the event itself, but if you want both be ready for a serious grind.
I know I’m doing it. I need that halo! I had it forever in GW1 and I’ll be kittened if I miss it in GW2!
It takes like 20-30 minutes at most to get all 36 rubble locations. That’s not much of a grind.
I just think it would be nice to know what the item is before I waste time on it… And I think that’s what the OP is asking for… I wish it had a description in it (permanent, endless (so has a duration but you can “turn it on”) etc. it’s kind of strange that they wouldn’t explain the item, because what happens to the first person who grinds for it, gets it, figures it all out, and then sees like, it’s not permanent, it sucks and isn’t worth it.
Anyway, information from a dev would be cool!
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?

It’ll work just like any consumable. My guess is that it’ll be like the harpy love potion and will display as a buff lasting only 5 min.

Haha I wonder if it will have a 30 minute cool down.

I’m understandably curious as to what either potion does.
And since the other option is Supply items? It seems the only thing to save for . . .
The OP didn’t call it sloppy because it takes time to get. Instead, it is sloppy that we don’t know the answers to basic questions about the item, and by the time those answers are well known, it may be too late for some people to start farming it. But please, if you can, let us know the answers to the following:
*Is it limited or unlimited use?
*Does it soulbind on use or will it be account bound?
*Does the animation work in combat or does it cancel?
*Does it have a cool down?
*Is there anyway to preview it, so I can ensure there are no clipping issues?
I don’t mind farming for epic loot, but I don’t want to spend the majority of my play time over the next two weeks farming a soulbound potion that clips with my helmet and has a 5 minute uptime with a 30 minute CD.
I guess wanting fore-knowledge of the above is unreasonable and without critical thought, though.

I just wanted to know how exactly how this item worked jeesh…

If you are so much as going to ignore your ‘Anet is sloppy’ remark, I guess you should just delete/edit it to pretend you never wrote it.
It is, after all, what I’m more focused on than your original post.
I’m all for criticizing the game but if you have nothing to back it up then you deserve criticism itself.
I think the rubble piles reset from Overflow and Main servers, last night I got 18/30 locations but had 27 heirlooms.
BTW, I did LA attack 3 times.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

What evidence do I need? We have ZERO information on how the potion works. All we know it involves getting a halo on your head.
Yet you have to work a lot to get it (which I don’t mind as long as I know what I’m grinding for).
How is that not sloppy?

Maybe Anet prefers that players find it out themselves?
Besides. Anet afaik never has included extra details on these consumables or potions. Even the Infinite Watchknight doesn’t have a note that locks use for 30m and lasts for only 5m.
I don’t think it’s sloppy. It’s just they have no requirement to.
My assumption is that they will work just like the permanent representation buttons. You double-click to activate, turning it on, and if on and you double-click, it removes it. Similarly to those buttons, I envision the halo/horns lasting an hour.
Either way, we’ll find out! If you’re not ballsy enough to check it yourself before knowing, wait for me to grind it out and I’ll post letting people know!
