So it was the Jungle Dragon Mordremoth after all. Not really a surprise. Good stuff though. The cinematic was great and i bet we will see some really sweet stuff soon. Tyria will change. Zhaitan’s minions will disappear from Orr etc.

I’m assuming. I’m pretty sure they will change Orr. As the Living Story is the story after the death of Zhaitan. We cleansed Orr and now there’s a new Elder Dragon rising.

Colin I believe confirmed it was Mordrimoth and I hope its means its a continuation of the personal story and not the living story. it would really suck to be a player that comes into the game late and not be able to defeat one of the EDs.

Because it looked like it was taking place deep underwater. It could be Bubbles. Thematically it makes FAR more sense to be Mordy, but it doesn’t have to be. Rather than opening up Maguuma, which would be awesome, they could be bringing together the stories of the Quaggan, Hyleck, Krait and (other aquatic race), as well as bringing together the Karka which basically started all this for us. What she did wasn’t necessarily to wake up a Dragon, but to make a beacon pointing it right to us.

Again, everything falls much better into place if it’s Mordy, it just doesn’t have to be.

As for Orr changing, all they have to do is use the methods used in GW1 to show the differences, adding a disclaimer that you are taking part in “past events”. The only way to move the story forward without drastically changing the landscape is to add new zones and that is a very labor intensive process.
They clearly used some of the breaks (Wintersday, back to school, etc) to work on these updates and now we’ll have a LS story break that will probably be used to work on the first major (and hopefully permanent) expansion to the game.
The only question is if they are going to lowball it or go big time and charge for it.

Anyway, I’m excited about the dragon, but when my hubby watched it he had no idea that’s what it was implying. So I’m wondering if all of us are just… Well… So biased that we are seeing something that isn’t there.

This would all makes sense…but the mere presence of a butterfly shows that they are in fact in a Jungle – not underwater.

Look again and tell me how that looks like it’s underwater.

Trees, foliage, leaves…those blue ‘sparks’ are what we know as ‘sparkflies’

Wherever it’s located lets hope it menas addition to personal story instead of living story season2.

Exactly. Its like a rorschach test almost. Either way, we got a Dragon and maybe a PS part 2. Either way they do it, I hope they add the ability to replay moments from both outside of the Fractals that is.

It’d be hilarious if we beat Zhaitan only to have Mord fly over right after and re-corrupt it.

So does this means that Scarlet was pretty much a dragon champion since afterall Scarlet was changed by the “entity” aka that dragon who awoken at the end of the cinematic?

let me make this perfectly clear. This dragon is Mordramoth not bubbles. If you watch the cutscene the layline goes through queensdale, through metrica province, and straight into the maguma wastes. Then it goes down into the earth, not water, and wakes up mordramoth. I even specifically remember video word Dev said that there is a jungle dragon and before it was called maguma wastes, it was called the Maguuma jungle back in gw1.
sorry but it is not bubbles I don’t know if people are saying that to be funny or to misguide people but I just keep getting annoyed whenever I see someone say oh it must be bubbles because the layline went into the ocean when it clearly did not.

In all honesty I didn’t even notice the butterfly. Watching that video was the second time I’d seen it and it is much clearer the second time that it’s in the jungle. Weird coloring, but still jungle.

I think i’ve read ArenaNet are going with LS and not PS. PS was bad, and didn’t really add anything dynamic to the world of Tyria. The PS also messes a lot with future updates and keep getting in the way. LS is the way to go.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Living Story isn’t AFTER the Personal Story. It’s real time and separate because some players have done the Living Story but not fighting Zhaitan. The Living story has to be relevant to all players Personal Story completion or not. The cleansing of Orr “hasn’t happened” technically for everyone.

Or it could be just the LS they needed to announce an expansion and open up the new area.

Just ask Lore Forums though, and they will prove to you that LS is now after Personal Story canon wise.

As far as Orr is concerned, I don’t see this arc taking us there. Even if it did, there’s an entire half of the Orrian landscape we haven’t explored yet. Relax.

Yeah, I never noticed the butterfly the first time I saw the cutscene, but I went and did the fight again to get the Nowhere to hide achievement and noticed it the second time. I think the fireflies or shiny particles made it look like it was underwater.
