*Spoilers* Scarlet
No idea what your screenshot’s supposed to prove :P
I knew it!
Ahahahahahaha I knew it!
Yes, I’m totally stoked and I haven’t even been into the game yet. Can’t wait. Work day is over in about 90 minutes, and then into the game I go!
It shows the correct leylines and they match those made by fans. The ending is obvious, you see Mordremoth awaking because of the leylines.
During the living story they say that Scarlet found something belonging to her roots that changed her deeply.
She is (well… was) linked to Mordremoth, just like EVERY Sylvary is.
We were right. DEAL WITH IT.

Err, so how does this mean that every Sylvari is linked to Mord, you make no sense.
It was super obvious, not really a thing to ‘deal with’ here. Anyone who didn’t predict it was either not paying attention or letting an overactive imagination get in the way of thinking.
Except if you pay attention to the living story you’ll notice that several time it is mentionned that what changed Scarlet is that she discovered something linked to her very nature but hidden deep inside a.k.a. her link with the dragon.

Except that the link was during the time inside Omadd’s machine. She wasn’t “linked” before that to any dragon, neither were any other sylvari (or at least we don’t have proof of that).
The Sylvari always came from Mordremoth. It was obvious.

Well do you have some actual evidence to follow that theory up?
Vorpp: Ceara encountered something that literally broke her mind, but the only things in there were things she brought.
Vorpp: I surmise she was directly exposed to a part of her own psyche that had been carefully walled off. Perhaps for her own protection?
Vorpp: We’d need to do far more extensive study of the sylvari Dream before I could draw any more-detailed conclusions.
Vorpp: What I can conclude now is that she’s preparing to strike. Mark my words: Scarlet’s next attack is planned and ready.
This :
Vorpp: I surmise she was directly exposed to a part of her own psyche that had been carefully walled off. Perhaps for her own protection?
This was obvious as hell but we just needed the final proof. I’d like to hear what Konig will say, mister I-know-everything-but-in-fact-I-was-just-wrong

Which is why Malyck was espousing praises of Mordremoth, having had nothing walled off by the Pale Tree.
Nanuchka, norn mesmer: “BOOZEAHOL!”
Tarnished Coast – Still Here, El Guapo!
Malyck: The Knight of Embers is a fool. Whatever this “nightmare” is, it led her to obsession and madness. Is your “Dream” the same?
<Character Name>: No. The Dream is a vision of hope and a feeling of purpose. It guides us toward the light, not into evil.
Malyck :I wish I could say that I understood the difference, but I don’t.
Would make sense
You saying the Pale Tree = Elder Dragon?

Malyck isn’t from the Pale Tree. It’s not known for sure whether he experienced a dream at all. Nothing to do with Mordremoth in his case.
You know who else was led to obsession and madness?
Well, we know now there’s a draconic connection but it ain’t what you think.

You saying the Pale Tree = Elder Dragon?
Of course not. the pale tree comes from a seed that was found deep in the forest by a human (in GW1), it seems that this seed comes from the dragon or was corrupted by it.

He said he didn’t experimented any dream. But it would make sense if the dragon was asleep. He doesn’t need his “army” yet so there’s no reason he would try to connect with the sylvary, except indeed for Scarlet.
And yet the destroyers where still trying to kill everything even with Primordus asleep back in EotN, so…

To be fair, Primordus was supposed to awaken that same year, but The Great Destroyer’s death set his awakening back 50 years.
Exact ! Commanders awake before their masters so it make sense.
Even so, nothing specifically points to Sylvari being intended dragon minions from the start. If anything, it would make more sense for the Nightmare corruption to be related to Mordremoth, since it behaves similarly to dragon corruption. But the Sylvari themselves? Still too far of a stretch without more conclusive info.
Remember, Glint needed to be given free will by the Forgotten’s magic. Just being planted somewhere by a human and a centaur who left a tablet would be insufficient to give the Pale Tree and it’s offspring free will from Mordremoth if they were in fact created/corrupted by him/it.
