If we get the jungle dragon why was she drilling in LA? Wouldn’t it have been better to drill over the dragon?

Maybe she didn’t know his exact location and drilled in LA hoping it would wake him up?

The probes she laid down found the “focal point” so to speak of the ley lines. She was able to trigger a chain reaction that spread all throughout tyria, waking up the dragon.

She couldn’t find the dragon directly since it was dormant, which is why she needed the ley lines.
