I’ve completed at least 5 LA runs since reaching 13/15 and my counter is still stuck on 14/15. And I do mean start-to-finish. Is this part of the event or am I doing something wrong?

Even if you complete all of the achievements you have to do at least one Escape from LA daily to finish the 15.

I’m stuck on 14/15 as well. It looks like there isn’t a living story daily today, even though you need one to get 15/15. Hopefully you can still do the achievement tomorrow.

I am also stuck on 14/15. Last one I need is the group miasma event or a daily, but since there was no daily today, I’m screwed. Unless these achievements are still attainable after tomorrow. :/ ANET, please. You need to tell us how long these events last.

I’m pretty sure they did tell us, about a year ago, and been following the same pattern ever since (apart from the odd exception like Halloween and Wintersday) – first part lasts 4 weeks, second part 2 weeks, with both ending on the same date. If the pattern holds, Escape From LA and its dailies will still be available to complete during Battle For LA, and both will end in 2 weeks.

I’m hoping you’re right! I keep seeing people talking about it ending tomorrow. It would still be nice to have the specifics for each release notated somewhere, either in-game (living story countdown timer on the achievements) or online… anywhere.

Yes, but march 3rd was yesterday. Once the reset happens, it’s the next day as far as dailies are concerned.

Yes, that is how it has been. “Patch Day” (which began at 4pm PST/server time yesterday) doesn’t have a LS linked daily.

oh ok. It was still march 3rd for me when i was trying to get the achievements. The dailies must’ve updated to march 4th when i was still experiencing march 3. It makes sense but that blows.

I can’t believe i wasted all that time chasing the piles of rubble…haha. I don’t normally hunt achievements, but i was sitting at 12/15 just through regular play, so i thought, “what the heck, ill go for it.” I really wanted some more children’s drawings too >_>

They did tell us, in the patch notes for Escape From Lion’s Arch. They went so far as to say exactly how many dailies would be available for this update, and that you’d need to complete 15 of the 28 achievements (counting dailies) to earn the reward.

Now, the reward in this case is just 100 bags, so it’s not the end of the world to miss out on. The 25 AP missed might hurt a bit more, but you could just devote a day to Keg Brawl or another activity to catch up on that and then some.

Going into it, i honestly thought there were 15 living story achievements to get. It wasn’t until i got stuck at 14/15 that i figured out i still needed a daily living story achievement.

Going forward i know to expect that a daily living story achievement may be required in order to complete the living story achievements, and that the daily may not be available within the same time frame as the rest of the living story achievements.

There’s no hate intended I believe. All you had to do was a few daily achievements in the two weeks of the update. It’s been that way with nearly all the living story releases. So it was nothing you shouldn’t have known about(unless you are brand-spanking new to the game). Also, nearly every living story is at least 2 weeks in duration, sometimes more – never less.

Sorry you couldn’t get a total of 15 for the reward. But now you have the knowledge of what you need to do next time.

You don’t need dulfy to figure this one out. It’s remedial.

Unfortunately because of the nature of Battle for LA it’s possible there will be no new Escape from LA Dailies, BUT there might still be. Typically after the first two weeks of a new story, when the second half of the story is introduced, you still have the ability to complete the first group of achievements, including dailies. It may become harder to complete some, because the entire focus of the event is changing, but they should be there.

Ever since the first LS-related daily was introduced, I always start a new LS by counting how many achievements there are.

Whenever a new LS checklist/achievement set comes in, one of the first things I do is count the number of achievements listed and the number required for the meta achievement. Then I figure out if there are any I don’t want to do or, if I am unable to do any of them for whatever reason, how many LS-specific parts of the dailies I need to do.

If you are 14/15 I am unsure why you haven’t done 1 single LS daily in two weeks.

If you’ve just started the day before an update, well, them’s the breaks.

In either case plan better for the next one.

edit: Sometimes just reading what they do provide is sufficient, dulfy or the wiki isn’t needed to play the game.

I just don’t understand how you could fail to accidentally complete one of the Dailies in the two weeks this has been out. I’ve done at least 3 before I even knew what it was.

haha that is a really good question. Like i said in an earlier post in this thread, i don’t normally achievement hunt, and i definitely don’t keep up with the dailies. I think the only living story achievement i’ve fully completed was the toxic one to get the gas mask helmet.

I logged in on march 3 and saw i was sitting at ~11/15 achievements, so i thought, what the heck i’ll just bang out the rest. I hit 14/15 and can’t figure out what else i have to do, i completed all the living story achievements. I check the forums only to get berated because i should’ve known that you can’t do a living story daily the day before the new patch.

You had 2 weeks to accidentally get an event daily completed. The procrastination is entirely on you.

Yeah, i guess i should have known i needed to get that daily that i didn’t know about. Silly me!

edit; my biggest issue is that, if it was impossible for me to finish the living story meta, i wish it was made more clear before i spent two hours searching for piles of rubble. It was not fun and in the end a huge waste of time.

I’m sorry but I don’t consider it “procrastination” when I try to do an event on what is perceived to be the halfway point. So no, it’s not “procrastination.” It’s precisely when I usually do these events and have a few weeks left to do everything.

Yeah it’s really strange i managed to do 11/15 without hitting any of the dailies. I did those in the first two days of the patch. If i had known dailies were needed to complete the meta i would have paid attention to them or done them.

Yeah it was my fault i waited til the end to finish a few achievements, but no where was it indicated that i couldn’t do it at the last minute. I assumed everything i needed to do for the achievements would be available before the next living story patch.
