Anyone have any ideas why its there or if there is any lore relating to it?

Before the attack, there was a bunch of merchants on the road up to the Tengu gate. One of them was a Tengu that said he too wasn’t allowed in, as he was a “lapsed” Tengu.

It’s safe to say that nobody, not even a Tengu, is being allowed in right now.

Sounds like we may have a tengu rebellion to look forward to…

I encountered friendly tengu beyond the Dominion of Winds. The tengu guards are just indifferent towards travelers.

Well, if they become a playable race, we WILL need a hostile Tengu faction to fight against (a la Bandits/Separatists, Flame Legion, Sons of Svanir, Inquest, Nightmare Court).

Tengu Isolationists has a nice ring to it.

The Tengu merchant wasn’t born in the Dominion, that’s why he’s considered a “lasped” Tengu. Even though he’s a Tengu he’s an outsider, so no Dominion for him!

Basically, his family emigrated to Kryta from Cantha when emperor Usoku started his crusade against non humans (about 190 years ago in the game lore), and by now none of them speak canthan (or whichever language the dominion of the winds tengu speak), so they won’t let him pass either.
