Treahearne where is he?
His entire life is rebuilding Orr, he’s probably still there regardless of what is happening in LA or anywhere else for that matter.
Well, he’s doing a pretty awful job considering the place is still crawling with undead and undead events, I figured magical necrosalad power was much better then that.

Don’t blame him for how the game’s designed. He’s doing the best he can despite being given nothing to work with.
When the living story allows him to finally cleanse Orr and it gets asura gates and merchants and crafting stations, you’ll all love him.

I don’t remember seeing him there. I’m pretty sure I killed an Elder Dragon whilst he kicked back at Fort Trinity where it was nice and safe.

HE did no such thing…zhaitan was brought down by a group of 5 random ppl throwing yellow confetti at him for 15mins.
But in relation to OP-this is another problem with this living story thing (which people who cry about ‘immersion-breaking’ race/faction change option ignore I might add -__-). Where exactly does it fall within the story? If you level a new toon now and hit lion’s arch you’ll see the destroyed architecture but everyone continues like there isn’t toxic miasma around (right down to the little kids playing as destiny’s edge). Also what about the order of whispers? Didn’t they pride themselves in knowing everything? Yet some plant caught them off-guard and their long time arch-nemesis, the Vigil didn’t even ridicule them? Although that contradicts what eventually happens in the story, it can be explained by saying only small groups still have animosity towards each other (similar to the rebel groups against the charr-human alliance).
I’ve learned to stop trying to role-play and immerse yourself in this role-playing game as you’ll just cause yourself frustration and confusion…in the meantime, here have some loot and be merry. I am of the firm believe it would have been better if they remembered this was a mmorpg-a persistent world shared by millions of players rather than trying to craft a single player game with co-op elements (story-wise).

The final fight with Zhaitan attached. (comic – spoilers)

Don’t worry guys! Trahearne send an airship filled with a group of gullible people, who then throw confetti which clogs up the drill and accidentally kills Scarlet in the crash!
And then Lion’s Arch will be renamed Trahearnia in honor of his great victory!
Oh, and he’ll send you a ‘thank you’ card afterwards for a job well done… commander.

He is in Fort Trinity and he has one line I think something about “how dragons are rising all over the world” yadda yadda yadda :P
Shouldn’t he be saving Lions Arch and stealing our glory?
I’m sure treeherone will make a cameo to claim the glory soon, but he is currently too busy working on ascended gear.
221 hours over 1,581 days of bank space/hot pve/lion’s arch afk and some wvw.
Guys, Scarlet >is> Trahearne. He just got a haircut and decided to use his real voice.
When the living story allows him to finally cleanse Orr and it gets asura gates and merchants and crafting stations, you’ll all love him.
I already do
Sometimes we have to ignore gameplay issues and focus on the story only, or nothing is going to make sense. The cleanse of Orr is one of these things. I really hope that the LS will address that.

Shouldn’t he be saving Lions Arch and stealing our glory?
Only, he never stole glory from the players in Personal Story, so why would he now?

Didnt you hear? Arenanet abandoned personal story in favor of living story. They dont care.
He’s busy doing a mountain of paperwork and going to meetings to get more funding for the Pact. It seems his second in command is nowhere to be found to help with the work load.

My contract, as I’m sure is the case of many other commanders, specifically states I do not handle paperwork. That’s his job.

I’m pretty sure the engineers who made those cannons and airships actually killed him. No actual combatants got within a hundred feet and the cannons didn’t even have to be aimed.

His wyld hunt contract says he is only responsible for zhaitan. So he brought his fleet of pact airships on a vacation tour somewhere.
I don’t know, but if he’ll show up, “this won’t end well”.
In the part of my brain that wants Tyria to make any sense whatsoever, Trehearne is sticking close to the Source of Orr – because if he leaves for more than a day or two his great engine of cleansing begins to wither. He will be bound to that place for the rest of his life, his freedom sacrificed for the future of that poor, tainted land.
Because his victory should come at a cost so high no player wants to be the one who has pay.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Actually Treherne’s wyld hunt was to cleanse the land of orr, and it’s far from cleansed. All that corruption doesnt go away overnight.
When the living story allows him to finally cleanse Orr and it gets asura gates and merchants and crafting stations, you’ll all love him.
And you can buy a pass to his asura gates and merchants and crafting stations for only 1000 gems!

He wasn’t there when we cannoned down Zhaitan. He even admitted it he can’t be there to see Zhaitan fall.
Dear OP, please don’t start threads about Trehearne, it’s practically an open invitation for ANET to bring back the kitten and shove him down our throats again. Frankly I can’t face any more of his glory stealing, patronising, offensive, arrogant, smart- kitten , badly acted voice. There’s a reason I’ve never finished the personal story (other than the crappy forced dungeon BS) and it’s name is trehearne. If he comes back to the LS, I’ll not be anywhere near it…

Sssssshhhhhh….. Don’t give Anet anymore ideas to milk the cash out of us………
Because no one bothers with the actual personal story:
“He and his forces eventually managed to establish a forward base at the foot of the Promenade of the Gods. Near there, at the Artesian Waters, Trahearne and his second-in-command defeated the Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan and performed the Ritual of Purification to reverse the corruption therein, completing his Wyld Hunt for once and all. Casting the Ritual of Purification had weakened Trahearne, forcing him to recuperate at Fort Trinity while the Pact and Destiny’s Edge assaulted Zhaitan in the Ruined City of Arah. With Zhaitan’s defeat, Trahearne exclaimed the need to begin planning to win four more “impossible victories” over the remaining Elder Dragons."
Trahearne did his job, and left the players to do their job. (Sylvari characters’ “Wyld Hunt” is to slay Zhaitan. Trahearne never claims to do this.)
DESTINY’S EDGE tries to steal your credit. Not Trahearne. Stop qq’ing because Trahearne is amazing, and start wondering Destiny’s Edge (and Logan) takes your credit.

agree! But the roleplaying in this game is somewhat lacking. I checked with leaders from Vigil, order of whispers and priory. NOTHING about LA is invaded by Scarlet and theories on why. I hoped for some clues, but they are just just talking about risen on claw island and yadda yadda yadda. Logan and his leutanant talks about thieves within Divinity walls for god sake :P

Indeed. That’s why if they say wanted to ‘retire’ him for the next dragon campaign, it could be explained easily and REASONABLY that he is still recovering from the drain of cleansing the source of Orr, and afterward he is heading up the clearing of the Risen and the research camps (because he is a scholar after all).

Only, DE doesn’t steal credit. In the end cutscene they walk out of the light behind the player, and when they stand on the shores of Orr, the player is standing with them.
However, besides that personal nitpick, I appreciate that you actually paid attention to the personal story and that Trahearne never steals credit or glory, and infact constantly states how important you are. Cookie for that!

Ah, true you are right about that. It has been a bit since I finished my story.
But yeah, that was why I never got the Trahearne hatred. Trahearne acknowledges how important you are.

But yeah, that was why I never got the Trahearne hatred. Trahearne acknowledges how important you are.
Mainly it’s bandwagon hate.
As I described it ingame, “Hating a character for no good reason, twisted reasons, or simply to be in the crowd.” Aka, if I ask “Why do you hate Trahearne” and you answer “Why not”? you don’t care. If you answer with a list of reasons and I disprove half of them as twisted or entirely false, you hate him for no reason.
Trahearne and Scarlet get the worst of it because people don’t like them for some reason, but instead of thinking it through they twist everything to support their hate. As I said in a scarlet debate thread a while back “I don’t care if you love her, hate her, or are neutral. Just have your facts straight.” because I was getting fed up with seeing the same reasons of hate posted over and over, and very MINOR research and searching proved them false and twisted.
I like to think the reason that I don’t see him anymore, is that he tried getting with Caithe and Faolain “NOPEed” him so hard hes 6 feet under, but you know that’s just me
He´s using LFG tool selling Arah runs for the Pact.
The problem with Trahearne isn’t that he steals your glory. It’s that even though you know kitten well he spent 90% of his time in the missions lying face down in the dirt whilst you went around saving the day, your own characters dialogue is written to play down everything you’ve been doing and go on about what a fine job Trahearne is doing instead.
The ridiculous level of praise your own character gives Trahearne for doing practically nothing vastly out weighs the odd, “I couldn’t do it without you commander” line he throws your way. No kitten Sherlock.

And how much of this is game mechanics (akin to the “How are Scarlet’s armies still intact we’ve killed so many!”)
Most of the stuff Trahearne gets ‘praised’ for is more of the paperwork/directing side, while the commander/player does the fieldwork. (as I recall at least)
Which would you prefer, being praised for how much you’ve done but seeing Trahearne carve through enemies effortlessly while you struggle along, or you carve through enemies while Trahearne helps out? Do remember, this is a SCHOLAR who prefers to avoid combat if it can be helped personally.
Besides, I recall nothing in the dialogue of doing my human necro’s personal story that downplayed her actions as a whole. Maybe she was put down by certain bits (Like being unable to save Apatia affecting the player character directly), but otherwise, no… nothing I recall “put down the characters actions” or lessened them.
Trahearne comes in for the last cut-scene and says “Thank You, Commander.”
Then everyone cheers him and presents him with awesome stuff.
Then you get a pop up offering you a 4-slot bag and your choice from three mid-level karma skins.
Don’t worry guys. Trahearne will follow the footsteps of Kormir, and save Lion’s Arch.
Actually, the reason why Tequatl got stronger is because after Zhaitan fell, Trahearne had to step in and absorb the Elder Dragon’s power. It was a burden that Trahearne simply couldn’t inflict on us and a heroic sacrifice he was willing to make. Trahearne is now Mordremoth.
“Moving on”
…sorry couldn’t resist.

Hope he knows that still doesn’t excuse him from paying me that 70 gold he lost in a game of Ogden’s Dice Poker.
