I’m really excited for this, but I won’t be able to be on at the usual times that the patch hits. Will it be like when Mad King Thorn came out of the lion statue where the cutscene repeats every so often? Will I log in to an already destroyed LA? Is it possible that it will be instanced?

I was really looking forward to standing on the lion statue as everything crumbles around me.

I’m sure it will probably an instance much like the tower in Kessex Hills. By which I mean that instance when you first entered the zone, then you will see the ruined Lion’s Arch after that.

given the devs said itll be like lost shores if your not there on time you will miss it and have to do without the precursors

You don’t have to worry about it.
Arenanet aren’t likely to do a live event again – it was a complete disaster last time.

There will most likely be an initial instance to introduce you to the story

They stopped doing the one time events after the whole Karka invasion of Lion’s Arch… Having that one time event caused so many problems with the servers for its entire duration; skills just would not activate, people kept disconnecting, etc.

In addition to the server problems, it’s unfair to people in certain parts of the world that would have to log in at the middle of the night just to play during the one time only event.

It’s better for everyone to just have an instance and then the destroyed LA explorable zone after that.

I hope that it is a different kind of instance. I really don’t like these solo instances that won’t let me roleplay with my friends while stuff is going down.

Seriously. There is no singular live even at Patch time.
If there was they would do what they have done any time previous to know and would have let people know.

That kind of one-time thing gets WAY in advance notifications because this is a global game.

They notified us when there were 1 off things for halloween (the cinematic), they notified us for the couple of one off’s in the lost shores event.

Patch time doesn’t help you anyway. If they were having a one off it would have to happen AFTER patch time – otherwise only the few people who patched quickly and have super fast internet would see it.

Use common sense people. Arenanet is a company full of intelligent people, they aren’t going to make content that is a one off and NOT tell players about it.
