Where's the Pact?

Just something that has occurred to me but I find it really strange that the pact isn’t more involved with the situation in LA given how big of a part they played in taking down the Molten Alliance and Toxic Alliance.

So far the Vigil has graciously housed a lot of LA services but they aren’t committing any soldiers to evacuating LA which seems strikingly against their usual M.O. The Priory seems to have a few analysts trying to piece together the bigger picture but they don’t actually seem to be involving themselves beyond the refugee camps. By contrast the “underhanded” and “untrustworthy” Order of Whispers are playing the biggest role and are both fighting by the Lionguard and seem to be responsible for saving more civilian lives than the Lionguard themselves.

Just finding it strange that the Pact hasn’t prepared a more organized response to help the Lionguard (who are seriously getting their butts kicked in there).

The Pact is as useless as Trahearne.

That makes us useless commanders, second in command, as noone ever listens to us there.

So, in the end, we are as useless as Trahearne, uh, that stings a bit.

The Pact is only focused on the Elder Dragons. I believe it was this interview in which it was stated that the Pact are still reering from their assault on Orr – the risen weren’t all killed, of course, and the Pact lost a lot of individuals in the assault. In Flame and Frost, it’s even highlighted subliminally if you’re a Pact commander (read: completed Forging the Pact) that your presence is odd because the Pact is to fight Elder Dragons, and only Elder Dragons (similar to how you won’t see the Sentinels fighting ogres or Ascalonian ghosts).

Just because the Orders are involved, doesn’t mean the Pact will be. The Pact is a separate entity than the Orders – it pulls most of its resources from the Orders, but the Pact has some Pact-only soldiers, as well as members that are from other groups (Seraph, Iron Legion, Lionguard, and individual norn being most prevalent of such).

In short: they’re too preoccupied with dragons and recovering resources and manpower to deal with non-dragon threats.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

They have not touched a dragon in over a year. They have been rotting in fort trinity forever.
They focus on nothing. They are useless. There are other elder dragons awake, why the kitten are they staying in Orr?

If they want to fight elder dragons, they got to move. Otherwise they can just help Tyria or disband.

Pretty much this. The pact is about stopping Eldar Dragons and saving Tyria. LA is just one city. They figure we can deal with it.

They have not touched a dragon in over a year. They have been rotting in fort trinity forever.

Half of the reason why I hate the living world concept.

“Sync the passage of time with real life!” = “Why the hell is nothing else progressing?”
“Little updates at a time! Continuously!” = "One storyline takes for-effen-ever.

I blame this not on the NPCs, but Anet, and their overambitious but also narrow-viewed design ideals.

They focus on nothing. They are useless. There are other elder dragons awake, why the kitten are they staying in Orr?

Well, Risen for one. Tequatl’s weird power boost for two.

Zhaitan may be defeated, but nothing said he’s dead nor that the Risen aren’t still a threat that’s far closer to the rest of Tyria than the other Elder Dragons.

Zhaitan is dead, Tequatl makes no sense. He was a bad choice as a permanent champion anyway. Zhaitan’s power is fading from Orr, why would his champion get stronger?

Honestly, for the elder dragons being the main plot of the game, it makes very little sense. And so does the pact.

Well, they need some brave adventurers to do all the work for them so they can take credit for it.

what concerns me is..
convoluted good scarlet – no evidence she sought help from anyone or made any attempt to join forces with the free peoples of tyria
evil scarlet – couldn’t care less about the pact or trahearne

i can only assume when zhaitan fell that a large amount of magic was released back into tyria and corrupted creatures much like the dragons themselves absorb ambient energies.. therefore tequatl may have been temporarily strengthened in the process.. regardless, i don’t know how long the risen will thrive without the influence of their master..

i can outswim a centaur!
when i’m done on an issue
i start talking in nerglish
