Well Anet does use alot of references. My favorite one till this day is the Dodge This! from GW1 using “The Matrix” movie

Because we know but the people of LA don’t. The council has dismissed concerns, much as the Claw Island leader did.

“Evacuate? In our moment of triumph?” is such a meme.

I think it’s because “evacuate in an orderly fashion from LA with plenty of time to spare” isn’t as cool a title as “escape from LA”

And I’ve not seen a single movie with Kurt Russell. Hence I had no idea why someone was bringing him up in a topic in a guildforum, until I’ve checked wikipedia. All I knew was, that he’s probably an actor (didn’t even know how he looks like (well and still wouldn’t really recognize him on a picture)).

Did I miss something? Are the movies worth to be watched?

The Escape movies (and Big Trouble in Little China) are campy, and silly, and very ’80’s. They are also uniquely themselves because they let go of Hollywood formula unless they are mocking or twisting it.

So many enduring quotes from those movies!

I’m also looking out for an Aetherblade pirate named “Cuervo Jones”.

I liked the name “Battle for LA” more though. Oh well.
