We could hunt the Marionette at the last minute. After this patch, those chests are removed from Scarlet’s Secret Lab. So there is a lot of unused fragments in game.

In my sense, there is no reason to remove these objects.

In addition, I have no idea why you keep removing some event vendors from this game( Sab, Wintersday, etc ), even though some vendors remain ( Zhaitaffy, Candy, etc ) and there is no problem.

Rename this thread to : “Petition for Cypher chest return!” and lets get some more response so that Anet will hear our cries.

I am serious. The disappearance of the chests would NOT have being a big issue had Anet’s PR team made ANY prior notification about this.
Other than the thread which got dev clarification of scarlet lair remaining there was NO indication of the chests removal upon update.
What this situation shows is lack of community empathy on Anet’s PR team. The original intent of the aforementioned thread was NOT just the lair’s existence itself but rather everything inside (cause we PVErs loves our loot). I’d bet half the interest of the lair was the cypher chests.
Personally I am stuck with potentially 50+ cyphers & 100+ spare key bags. How about you other forum posters?

Arenanet do us a favor and get the chests in the game for the time.

its not a big deal….so u didnt get to open a few chests let it alone, next time you can play it safe and ASSUME that content might be removed, its a good life lesson for u and others

I expected the obvious worst and spent all keys yesterday. I’ve also written several times in the chat after the event that the lair would most likely get removed so people should go and spend the keys while the current Living Story is still up.

That said, I don’t see any reason for leaving the lair but removing chests. (Apart from some kind of lame coding issues which could lead to a finite amount of slots for temporary “tokens”.)

Didn’t read everything did you? People DIDN’T just assumed, they asked in the forum about the lairs situation once the update arrives. The DEV response was simple to the point of misleading considering the poster’s original intents (lair remains, BUT chests loot gone).

If the chests are gone, Anet could have just stated that Scarlet would blow up the place to prevent future spying for all we care. (it would have made the issue MUCH clearer)

Exactly this, I was busy with other things and basically kept them since anet said the lair would remain.. I have tons of the stuff.. This must be fixed!

I told my guildies this would happen. Good thing I cleaned out all my keys before the update!

They need to fix this in a patch, or they lied to us. They officially stated that the Lair wouldn’t go away, thereby implying that the chests would remain as well.

I also thought the chest will stay..

I finally got around to gathering the Power Core Components to enter the Secret Lair the day before this patch, and now the chests are gone
I didn’t know they would be removed or I would have entered right away.

The lair is still there….just without the chests. So technically a correct answer. And if Danicia asked the team if the Lair would still be accessible without asking about the chests within, the information given to her answered her question.

and the information provided only causes more confusion. Anet should have declared the chests disappearance. There were multiple threads where people asked if chests would be around, and they were pointed to the quote. Theres not really a reason anyone would assume the chests would disappear.

Its a mess up, one they will hopefully rectify

On a related note is it still possible to get new Code Fragments?

I don’t think so but I want to make sure before deleting the odd ones I have left.
