I still fail to see why anyone but Humans and Asuran should give a care about what happens to Lion’s Arch.

Like, why does my Charr give a crap about what happens to some dinky port town (who fails utterly at stopping the constant piracy threat)? Why would a Norn want to go and save abunch of idiots who can’t save themselves? Not to mention their is no personal glory to be had in Lion’s Arch.

This is supposed to be some big story ending thing right? But an important part of a good story: motivation, seems lacking. Especially when you can’t help but think that those in charge (as in, the council and the lion guard) are themselves incompetent and should clean up their own mess.

Because they’re all pirates and like money, and their single trade hub has been destroyed.

Imagine if New York was destroyed and you lived across the world. It would directly affect you since all the exchanges in New York got destroyed.

… Well for one, the imaginary beings in this imaginary world tend to care about the other sentient beings. I’m pretty sure they know that if they let their neighbors get destroyed it’s only a matter of time until they’re next. Scarlet is a threat to everyone, and lion’s arch is the place she decided to attack this time. Why wouldn’t a Charr care? LA was the central hub of player communication. It doesn’t matter if you’re a human, Asura, Charr, or Sylvari, nothing is untouchable.

And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.

Sitting on your hands while the world burns is never a good tactic. (Cf. the attack on Pearl Harbor.)

It does happen to be the trading Hub of Tyria.
It has connections to the Mists, Southsun, and all four racial cities.

Like, why does my Charr give a crap about what happens to some dinky port town (who fails utterly at stopping the constant piracy threat)?

As a Charr you’ll go where the Legions assign you.
If they feel that having some evil force tearing up Lion’s Arch hampers long term Charr interests then they’ll send people.
Also LA doesn’t fail at stopping the pirate threat.
If anything it encourages pirates, but gives them a port to call home provided they follow the rules.

Why would a Norn want to go and save abunch of idiots who can’t save themselves? Not to mention their is no personal glory to be had in Lion’s Arch.

Norn go where action is.
You have a town ransacked by various threats from the poison in the air to different flavors of bad guys.
This same place has a huge freaking drill churning into the seabed, possibly unlocking Spirits knows what deep below.

If you survive that type of adventure, skaalds will line up for miles to sing your praises.

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!
