Comparing a fictional villain with a real life one isn’t really much of a comparison in my humble opinion.
You’re not much on immersion, I can respect that. But it is what it is. Sylvari did get a kinda sorta look, but that probably doesn’t satisfy you.
Oh, I’m pretty much on immersion but not to the point of mixing it up with reality.
I personally don’t care for that particular hairstyle as I like the style my Sylvari ranger and thief currently have. I just found it odd that it was not made available.

Its strange that it is not there. Especially as half of us are dressed as aetherblades, with backpacks that were part of scarlets killing machines and we use weapons and equipment based on foes we have encountered from as far back as the inquest.
I’m also surprised that there wasn’t a Scarlet hairstyle in the new kits. Taimi’s I was happy about, Kasmeer (who I believe is dumber than a fence post) I didn’t care about at all. The closest Sylvaris came to was the “rose” or cabbage pigtails, which makes no sense. Scarlet is dead, what does it matter that someone wants to look like them. I rather liked her, maybe not her methods, but she was alot deeper than any of the Destiny’s Edge v.2.0 .
People with that hair would end up being the target of continuous insults and harassment. Better avoid that altogether than having to punish those involved.

Scarlet, a villain in a video game, is close enough to Hitler, somebody who killed millions of real people, that reason dictates we not include her hairstyle.

I get that they don’t want to include Scarlet’ hair presumably because she’s supposed to be this monstrous villain, but it’s interesting to see how popularity this hair style would be with players. I’ve seen several threads asking for it.
It’s not like other iconic NPCs are unique, is her villain status really worth of an exemption?

ANet had zero problem making money off of Scarlet’s armor in the gem store, both the Magitech armor, which one only needs to look around the game to see is quite popular, and her more iconic battle armor, which can also be seen around and some people have done some cool things with dye-wise. Her gun is the hottest thing going on the BLT that is not a Legendary or precursor (currently the 60th most expensive item in the entire game).
I’ve played probably over a hundred hours the last two weeks, mostly guesting on Blackgate, and I have not once seen anybody being badgered about using any of her gear (other than that some people don’t like the look of the gun). And if you’ve seen it once or twice, that’s nothing compared to the number of people who are using it.
Reasonable adults are able to separate virtual gear or cosmetics they think look cool from a fictional character that used them. The only unreasonable ones who apparently can’t are those who need to defend the decision not to make a very clearly in-demand hairstyle available.
I’m sure ANet has their reasons, one’s that have hopefully have nothing to do with protecting players’ feelings or the belief that Scarlet’s cultural and historical significance is equivalent to Hitler’s (or even Darth Vader’s). Whatever those reasons are, I’m struggling to find an argument that would show the disappointment is unwarranted.
Hitler actually took his look from Charlie Chaplin, another famous guy at the time, but not a villain.
So, depends on your perspective, lol.
(While this is a fact, I am not in any way suggesting one SHOULD style themselves after the fashion made particularly notorious by Hitler, even if another famous personage also sported that same fashion.)

Same here. I liked Ceara’s Wheat pigtails. It made me think of Pippy Longstockings. I think good Sylvari should be allowed to have the same hairstyle.
Since every race can wear Grenth’s face & backpiece, I really don’t care if they add Scarlet’s airstyle. Inmersion is already broken, so who cares.
However it would be funny if NPCs insulted you for wearing that airstyle.

I don’t think they’ll add it in the future since it became so iconic and the “logo” of LS Season 1. Scarlet would just be another Sylvari among hundreds of others if it wasn’t for her hair (and crazy plans and destruction).

That doesn’t really work when there are no other sentient races on the planet. If a country unleashed two separate incidents of mass destruction on my home town though, I think I`d have a case for saying they had it in for me.

That doesn’t really work when there are no other sentient races on the planet. If a country unleashed two separate incidents of mass destruction on my home town though, I think I`d have a case for saying they had it in for me.
But that’s just it. You are human yourself, you grew up with humans. You’ve seen first hand that no matter how evil a human tyrant is, not all humans are like that. When you are dealing with a different race however, it is harder to realize, but not less true.
