When I completed LA on my five characters all I got was a bit of experience and three Transmutation Stones (the usual rewards for fully exploring a city). If LA becomes a regular map – we’ll say level 80 just for argument’s sake – anyone completing the exploration after the change will (presumably) get the usual chunk of experience, 40 of a T6 or T7 crafting material, a random BL item, and two exotics (the usual rewards for fully exploring a level 80 zone). So, if this happens…where’s mine?

Disclaimer – There’s no guarantee the map will become a regular map, the map will give out rewards for exploration, or the rewards won’t be retroactive. I’m just thinking aloud so you guys can weigh in if you have thoughts one way or the other on the subject.

if it becomes an explorable map it’ll become a new map, so everything you discovered is now undiscovered.

It will probably end up being a lvl 35-45 area, would transition well for those who are exploring as they level up.

I think Anet knows that if what darkace.8925 says above takes place, they’ll call a poo-storm down on their heads. If it becomes anything higher than a 1-15 zone and gives better rewards for exploration, the forums will fill up with complaints.

I want to say I heard they will make it a level 80 zone like Orr but with a difficulty of Southsun Cove.

I wish it would be a new zone, change the world permanently, give us NEW LASTING CONTENT….. but this will not happen. I predict by halloween, LA will be all fixed up and pretty much the same as before.

Ha, I’d love it if it stays destroyed and the Madking comes around again and realizes his crowd is dead and gone. He wouldn’t even see it coming, it’d be hilarious.

I would have to agree with this. Looking at the maps around it, I can see it being anywhere between 30 & 50. I do think it will be temporary however. I don’t believe for a second that this will be permanent. It may not be rebuilt in a week, but eventually it will be back as a city IMO.
