I have to admit I do find it nice that anet changed it a bit so we do have to split up. finally something besides mindless zerging. but I can’t help but laugh at the fact they had to hot fix it because we didn’t read between the lines and figure out that was what we were suppose to be doing from the start.
Could this be a sign that anet is figuring out they have to add more instructions then 3 targets and a time limit and say “kill all 3 within the time limit” to make us do more then just zerg them down.
We didn’t split from the start because splitting rarely works. It went from an event that everyone did “wrong” on Tuesday, but from which everyone completed it, got the loot they wanted, and went home happy, to now an event that everyone is doing “right,” which means that everyone fails and goes home disgruntled with a fraction of the loot from Tuesday.
If they absolutely insist on splitting the zerg then they need to do a better job of scaling it so that the split zerg can still DPS down the bosses in the same time that the full zerg used to be able to do it. 150 players attacking each boss in turn was WAY faster and just plain more FUN than 50 players on each boss. Now they are just DPS grindfests.

People knew that’s what we were “Supposed” to do. Most people tried it. Failed miserably, and tried the zerg. Won it handily and never stopped.
