There is a certain individual (who won’t be returning to them for the foreseeable month) who always checked on the Pre-Events before reset … and after reset to make sure everything behind the scenes ran smoothly. This included:
- Clearing all of the coffins in the first dynamic event within the crypt below the Altar of Betrayal (in Straits) so that the next event would begin…
- Defeating the 3 Veterans that spawn: Wraith, Abomination, & Noble (The noble is probably the most difficult to solo but any class with high DPS, Blind stacking, & Condition purge should have no issues, IE —> Necro, Mesmer, Thief even…)
- Ranging down the AA gun that spawns after those Vets are defeated (wait 15 mins)
- Escort Warmaster Leddron to the Crypt and don’t leave until he arrives at the doorway and begins dialog for the next phase (otherwise it could get bugged).
- killing most of the mobs that spawn and then fail to despawn from the Chan escort. (in cursed shores) right before reset.
- helping everyone else rez Chan’s escort with any kind of Revive skill that gets up to 3 NPC’s up in one use (necro, ranger, ele should all have this ability).
- Get on TOP of the Dome of Anchorage to DPS the Cauldrons down whenever possible.
- During temple of Grenth: instead of attacking the Preiest, wait in one of the 2 side rooms and AOE the Shades to get their attention and then run around the room trying to evade their Corruption Stacking debuffs. This is really important because when these Shades are allowed to wander into the middle of the main zerg, they just cause everyone in an AOE to get downed super quick so they can’t avoid the Priest’s heavy hitting Ice nukes.
- During the Temple of Lyssa… go check the North invasion in Straits … if it’s staying at “Pact has taken control of Stentor Cannonade” but there’s no event to defend the Golem cannons starting IMMEDIATELY, then it’s bugged and the south route must be started instead.
- For south; to successfully get Siegemaster Denbi out of Fort Trinity, you have to have a lot of minions or “bait” stationed where the first Risen wave spawns and some AOE damage to get their attention first.
- There’s always 2 Aboms and a Vet Brute in this group. They must be prevented from charging the 4 engineers AT ALL COST. And you have to keep CC’ing the Brute b/c it will ignore players and only focus on the NPC’s.
- Taking over the Trebuchet site on south route also goes a lot better when solo if you have a Reflect and a lot of poison removal VS. the Hylek.
I understand this is a lot to ask… and probably no one from the main zerg even remembers who was doing it initially so there’s no recognition to be had in it… But it makes the whole night’s schedule SO MUCH SMOOTHER. In some cases shaving 45 minutes off the entire run … which just that alone pays 2-fold for the time it should take to actually do most of this stuff. So ultimately, it’s logically effective for someone to take up these roles (but not the main commander, he has enough on his plate already).
Thank you for reading, and continuing to support these DE’s where Anet failed to.
