Guild Wars 2

I have to say, I enjoyed these two events very much.

I never really paid much attention the story in dynamic events. I’d do the objective, collect reward, leave. And back when the game was more populated, I’d tag events and just walk off (To get credit when others finished the event >_>).

But last night, something happened!

I went into Iron Marches, and found a house in the woods. I saw a bunch of charr cubs running around, and I laughed: It was amusing. Then I see Bria come out of the house and begin tormenting them.

I was the only player around and I did the event by myself, but I still enjoyed the heck out of it. It felt like they actually put some effort into it. Likewise with an event to the west of that event, in a charr controlled town, fighting against seperatists.

After seperatists take over and you drive them out, there’s 2 charr veterans that then go to raid the seperatist base. I don’t know why, but it was enjoyable, following them as I got to see their character personalities more. Again, I was the only player doing the event, but it was enjoyable.

Especially at the end, when they crack a joke to each other. I laughed along with it, and I really did feel a connection.

Moments like that, similar to the giant being freed in that one fractal. I’m just venting and people probably don’t know which events I’m talking about, but I just wanted to give Anet props to where it’s due!

Yeah, hanging out with Charr cubs is always a good time. They’re just so funny. (“Now I’m Logan…RUN AWAY!!!”)

The old codgers in the second event are also amusing. It’s defintiely nice when the NPC drives you to enjoy an event.

Yes, the Iron Marches is by far one of my favorite zones for the Dynamic Events happening here. Especially the ones leading up to the Meta Event of killing the Branded Devourer Queen, I would say they’re better than half of the later level Personal Stories.

This is what i wish every zone had, something that draws you in on a grander scale. There of course exists Meta Events in other zones, yet this is the only one I’ve seen that draws you across the map, from the very bottom, escorting smaller devourers and taming the siege devourer, to the top where you encounter various champions to fight.

The Bria one I’ve sadly yet to do, as everytime I’ve been there it has managed to glitch out. I even sent in 3 different tickets of various glitches I found in the forested area alone.
