Guild Wars 2

I am wondering if anyone has successfully caught one of Volden’s Frozen Kegs for the “Help Lodge Keeper Kevach” heart in Wayfarer’s Foothills. I have no idea how to do it. I can only assume that you have to be in the exact location of the keg, not even a inch off, to catch it. I’ve tried to catch the keg multiple times across many different characters, and have never succeeded or seen anyone succeed. I’ve looked at the frozen burst from the dropped keg and have come about 3 feet (3 of my characters feet) to the center of the burst, yet the game hasn’t let me catch it.

I have no idea what kind of tactics to use for this heart event. I’ve tried camera angles and even jumping to intercept the path of the keg, but nothing seems to work. How can anyone possibly catch one of Volden’s kegs??

I had a lot of success by jumping up into the keg as it approached.

‘Retrieve frozen kegs from the ice cave and bring them to Volden.
Enter the ice cave where the nearby skill point is to retrieve the kegs’

I have never tried to catch anything, but I always filled the heart by going into this cave, pick up a keg, walk back and give it to the questgiver. Bout 10 walks should do the trick if I remember correctly. The cave entranceis kinda hard to see and make sure you avoid the wurms in there.

Stand in one place eventually one may hit you.. Otherwise go in the worm cave its much easier

Ive tried and tried and never once caught one, so on the other characters that have done this heart quest.. I’ve not bothered. The egg event seems to spawn pretty often, most of the time Ive filled up the heart with that.

It can be done. I’ve managed to catch one keg doing this, but you pretty much need to stand directly underneath the keg when it lands, which can be tough to judge. The others are right though; it’s much, MUCH easier to fill the heart for that quest by either bringing out frozen kegs, waking up passed out drunks, or (my favourite) just walking into the cave and slaughtering any Ice Wurms you see.

I was never able to catch a single keg so I just went in the cave. I just thought it was me…

Oh good! I was wondering if jumping would help catch it or not! It’s good to have that info!

I know you can fill the heart through easier methods, but I’d like to be able to catch a keg once just for fun and I was wondering how in the world I should go about doing it. Thanks for all the input, all!
