Champion risen Covington captain
LOL, I ran into this one last night on Anvil Rock … didn’t realize it was a Champion when I was running down the stairs, entered the room, saw that he was a Champion with a whole bunch of friends … needless to say, I tossed out Grasping Dead in the hopes I MIGHT slow down some of the mob and get out of there alive, but that dude’s got mad jumping skills … and he followed me all the way up the stairs and finally nailed me right before I was able to get out the doorway into the sunshine … and I believe he one-shotted me at that … so, sure, let him be a Champion, but unless he’s the smug, pompous type that needs a lot of beer buddies around to make him feel better about himself, is there any reason he needs a whole team of cronies?

Maybe he is the type that needs lots of buddies to make him feel better?
Tried it with my (then) 50ish necro in masterworks and had an 80 Guardian friend in full exotics with me. I outlived the Guardian but only by 30 seconds or so. We whittled him down to around 40% health but then we got killed by the fast respawning “drinking buddies”. Maybe nerf the respawn rates on the cronies and he’d be more workable. Soloing him? Prolly not unless I had my 80 warrior with me.

I only tried this once on a level appropriate character. Kinda stumbled on him and died instantaneously. Did several seconds of reality-testing of the encounter and decided Anet had never done one.
Like so many Anet DE’s this one is silly, and with their outrageously silly event scaling it would probably be worse with a group of well-geared level 80 characters. I simply put it on my list of events to avoid. That list has grown quite long.
