Hi guys,

I have been reading about and I have realise that dynamic events, at least most smallish ones do repeat over time but this will ofcourse be affected by the course the events take and whether they are resolved.

But what I want to know is if this is true for all dynamic events, including for example ones like the events in the Flame and Frost saga.

Take the whole SouthSun plot, is that dynamic events which will never repeat again after they have been played through? Or can I play through the ‘Last stand of SouthSun’ when I reach level 80 and want to play through it?

What are the difference between these events (the Flame and frost and SouthSun – are they both a series of dynamic events where you to be at the right place at the right time to experience, or are they simply events which will repeat and which you can complete at any time). I think I am mixing up two separate things here, repeatable dynamic events and story dungeons (what are they?!) and events which happen during specific plot arcs.

Someone please explain all these to me, I’m very confused

Thanks a lot

SM

Flame and Frost and SouthSun are “Living Story” not dynamic events (they include dynamic events but that don’t make them DE).
Those are temporal and you will never be able to do it again once finished unless Anet add them again in the future (F&F are gone forever).
DE around the world will repeat over and over until they get bugged and you will be able to do them now, tomorrow or in a few years.

Sorry for the necro, but…

I think a good way to describe it is…

Dynamic Events: Events that occur naturally, without the influence of time-related events*. These will repeat at set intervals but may have different variations, in some cases, and are influenced/start based on players around.

Content Events: Events that occur with the release of content, tied directly to time-related events*. These will repeat at set intervals without variations and are based on how many players are around (although some occur even without players in the map).

Events*: An actual game event, e.g. Flame and Frost, Wintersday, etc…

So events like Flame and Frost aren’t replayable for good? I just didn’t have a chance to play them from the beginning, I was off GW2 for few months now, but I kinda want to catch up and recover whatever I missed in that time…

And I can see that I still have open achievements for F&F in my log. Now it’s just gonna be a nasty reminder for me for what I’ve missed…:( I hope Arenanet will make them available once again some day.

Events like Flame and Frost are indeed not replayable for good, Veirtimid. The majority of the content which falls into the Living Story is temporary.

If you missed the content, you thus could end up with open achievements.

At the moment the Living Story is focused on Southsun:

Dynamic events do always repeat. though there are some follow up events that need a succesfull or failed event to trigger it. Dynamic events are basicly all things at the top right corner of a screen you can get a medal for if you complete it (with the exception of skillpoints). This is off course unless Arenanet decide to take content out of the game. Then it will be gone forever. This is the case with the living story. The living story is temporary content that is in game for a limited amount of time. Some dynamic event’s are part of that content. They will repeat as long as they are in game but after the living story ends they are gone for good.

The living story arcs are more then the dynamic events. The area they take place in has been changed with new structures. New npc’s and dialogues are added and new achievements are in place to do. Atthe moment we are in the secrets of southsun.
This goes from may 14t till june 11. There is a special temporay(?) mini game added to southsun cove. There are new dynamic events, there has been an upgrade of the area in graphics and outposts. you can get special achievements and rewards, and there is even an instance (‘dungeon’) wich you can do with a group or solo.

After the 11th this is all gone again. They might keep the new graphics. but the instance and some of the dynamic events are gone. There is atleast one permanent addition and thats an event chain involving protecting the new settlements. If all are controlled a new world boss event will spawn (not in game yet).

However you will not be able to go there. at the moment due to the living story you are upgraded there to level 80. after that you need to be level 80.
