So say I’m a level 50 in a level 20 area, and I do a dynamic event. Will the rewards in xp, karma, and coin be similar to what they’d be if i was in an area of my own level?

Not exactly. I am not sure of the case of level 50 in level 20 area, for your reference, a level 80 in level 1-25 area will receive around 70%-75% of the reward he receives in a level 80 event. Not bad if you can finish many events, however, all drops from trashes are same level of that zone, which means you get a lot less coins from selling those items. Only chest, veteran or champion mobs would drop items near your level.

So what about hearts? Do they scale too?

Experience from renown hearts will scale up, but the cash reward is fixed. And there is a chance that loot from trash mobs will scale up also.

They do not scale up to level 80 rewards. I don’t have the exact numbers but if i often do dynamic events in plains of ashford while waiting for groups (yummmmmmm harpies), and i’d say i get around ~260 karma and ~1s 10-15c for completing a dynamic event there. Its been a long time since i was a natural low level and i haven’t leveled any alts so i don’t know if thats what a normal low level gets but thats definitely not was an 80 would get in Orr.

At 80 doing low level events I get around 1s 20c or so and sometimes I get L75ish (give or take a few levels) drops, otherwise the drops are area level appropriate. In Orr I get around 1s 75c for an event before DR.

I was completing Charr’s maps in level order and what I found is, at level 80, I keep receiving 1s20c and 243 karmas for all DEs until I entered the level 50-60 zones. This means it is not a scaling. I keep receiving 1s20c even for a level 49 event and suddenly I start receiving 1s60c in a level 50+ zine. I have no idea how the maths rule work in the office of ANet.
