Hello.
I really enjoy the game and it’s dynamic events, but the events are resetting and replaying in a relentless pace, and that more or less breaks the dynamic part of it.
As they are are now, they are no different than the public quests in Warhammer,or any other area specific quests in any other MMO.
I thought the idea behind dynamic events was to give the impression of an ever changing world, where your actions can make a difference.
But as it is now I end up doing the same event in a matter of minutes.
I save a camp or a village and before I get to sell loot the village is attacked again.
I retake a village and kill a boss and in less than 5 minutes that same boss is attacking again.Wasn’t the idea of dynamic events to get rid of these conventions of older MMOs?
Yesterday I was in the starting area(1-15) for Norn and got to kill the world boss event there,3 times in less that an hour. That is about the same or even faster respawn rate,I’d expect in any other traditional MMO.In what way is that different than other games,in terms of respawn/reset rates, and player impact in the world?

it does change the world, but the thing is, we never fail the events, for example in arah, if you fail the doors close and you cannot even do the dungeon.
atleast map bosses should be hard events
The point is that events reset in such a fast rate that effectively they end up being no different than other games.
And it’s not just the events players can trigger by talking to NPCs.
That “the boss you killed respawns a few minutes later, ignoring you”,we are trying to avoid,is happening in GW2 too.
There are a lot of players in the map,and events have to be repeated..ok
But why does it have to be the exact same event every time?Even if we win.
For example,we save a village and we kill a boss.
The next time NPCs attack, there should be a different harder boss,or something like that.As it is know, winning an event,at the start of a chain, does not trigger a different event, but resets the chain of events, resulting in the same stuff running again and again.

And some DE are announced and then do not start!
Happened to me last evening in Snowdon Drift. An escort DE was announced close by, I go to the start location and nothing happens. Just me and few NPC’s standing around waiting, looking right foolish. I tried talking to the NPC’s to get things started, all I got was something about the road is dangerous and escorts are needed.
Since I was the only player, I guess there needs to be a few more gathered before the DE kicks off. I gave up and moved on….
I agree with the OP about there needs to be another boss if the DE is going to repeat. Like a former Lieutenant taking the place of the previously defeated boss and trying extract revenge in a bigger, badder kind of way.
“Huuurrr you killed my leader, now we get bigger and stronger and we kill your landz!kitten” That kinda kitten lol.
EDIT: Lmfao. They replaced my naughty swear word with ‘kitten’. GG ANet. GG.
EDIT: What the..? ‘d-e.r’p is banned? o.O

i agree! i love the idea of dynamic events but the current implementation makes it interesting only on the first time you encounter it. i’d like it if some of these events have some sort of world changing effect that lasts for days. as it is, it’s not that immersive when the most significant changes i see are waypoints being temporarily contested or overrun by enemies.
i think this will be a hard thing to solve because they have to make the events loopable otherwise other players wont be able to experience them. but by making it loop too quickly, it ruins the idea behind why they did dynamic events in the first place and just completely breaks the immersion.
they should introduce on top of these loopable events some rarer ones that do not loop and pops up maybe once a day only and that can have long term effects on the map. i want to return to a map i’ve been to and be surprised that the place has actually changed. like, perhaps a quest a few days ago introduced a new species of monster in the area and now two days later the drakes that i fought there have now been replaced by a completely different enemy type. and along with it, a different set of events too.
