Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
(edited by Musha.4025)
As a completionist, I like to go through each area and try to do every event. When I go through each area I look up on the wiki to see what events are available. However, the wiki lists a few events that just aren’t starting for me. This includes events that I played during beta weekends that I’ve looked for since the game’s release. So I’m led to question: are these events even still in the game and just bugged? Or have they been removed from the game? Here’s a list of the events I’m looking for:
Metrica Province -
-Help Keela unmask the cheats trying to gather data at the chess tables before they escape
-Prevent Inquest thieves from stealing boxes of golem parts and fleeing Soran Draa
-Investigate Inquest activity in the Golemagical Institute
-Destroy the experimental Inquest golem
-Slay the King Hermit Crab that escaped from Splorg Metamystics
Sparkfly Fen -
-Destroy the Nightmare Court’s thorn wolves
If these events are still in the game, please tell me what the events’ start conditions are so I can complete them, allowing my obsessive completionism to let me move on.

Some events have really specific starting conditions, so you have to be quite lucky to get them from time to time, it’s either move on or keep waiting, but there’s no telling how long you will have to wait.
By the way, Musha, where are you from? The name seems familiar. Lke, a friend of a friend that used to play Cabal a lot.
No real help on the events other than it seems like some of them have VERY specific conditions to trigger. Including nubmer of nearby players, whether it’s day / night ingame, other events triggering, dialog options, specific items needed and the list goes on and on.
Not to mention that some events are on ludicrously long timers while others seem to restart almost instantly.
Off topic, your screen name reminded me of the top-down shooter sega genesis game M.U.S.H.A. fond memories of playing that game into the wee hours.

Wow I missed that “slay the king hermit crab”. Q_Q ( gotta find it later -_-)
No they’re not deleted you just have to find the trigger for some events.
Most events are easy started but some are hard as kitten to start like example some world events.
That’s pretty much everything.
cheers

lol. I’m just from the US, but I lived in Japan for awhile and so I speak Japanese. Musha is Japanese for warrior, and it is very commonly used; so you’ve undoubtedly seen it before. I shortened it from my usual username, Mushashukou (Paladin). I never played Cabal, but I was very active in GW1, but nice to make your acquaintance, anyway. I also work(ed) a lot on the wikis for GW1 and GW2.
In fact, that’s my main reason for asking about these events. I’ve been working on the event pages on the GW2 wiki for every event in the game (putting my completionism to good use). Needless to say, it’s a very large task, and I’ve only fully completed a few areas, but events that I’m not able to find slows down my progress. So, if people are able to help me figure these events out, they’re not just helping me, but the entire GW2 community, or at least those who use the wiki.

How can you be sure they haven’t been removed from the game though? And if it’s a simple matter of finding the trigger, I’ve seriously spent countless hours in these areas trying to trigger the events, doing everything I can think of, and have had no luck whatsoever. Is it possible for somebody at Anet to just tell us what triggers these events, or, at least, update the wiki pages for these events?

I just looked in to your events, I have done all of the Metrica Province ones, apart from
-Prevent Inquest thieves from stealing boxes of golem parts and fleeing Soran Draa
haven’t gotten to the Sparkfly Fen one, though. I don’t think they are removed, but, of course, they might be.
Anyway, good luck, see you in game!

When did you do those events? I was able to do some of them, too, but only during the Beta Weekend Events.

I did this one
-Destroy the experimental Inquest golem
last week, so that was pretty recent.
I too have had problem doing those events, unfortunatly i think they are bugged which is the reason why we can`t find them. Before the server maintenance on the 13 the batllegrounds where the Golem fight was bugged and all related event where not happening also there was one box of golem parts with the event sigh on top of it but no event ever happended. Upon maintenance box was gone and batllegrounds was back to normal. I guess there`s nothing to do but wait for fix.
Events was nerfed! Thx Anet now can stay in one place and wait thousand hours for one event.
Before was fun explore new places, make new characters. Now? Everywhere everything is dead. Masters of ArenaNet, go e.g. Genddaran or Harati H. – dead places now.
Why bad when somebody farming karma? Nerf everything, make abnormal price for gold→gem, pick up prices to heaven …. nice work, /appl .
GW2 was nice dynamic game. (sry for kitten eng)
Just a forenote: Events can be bugged and stop working but theres also this to mention -
Some are failure events. That is to say, they have a pre-event which might be ‘stop the containment failure’
And if players fail it, then another event will occur directly as a result.
only one i can give as an example is the norn 1-15 area, the evil son of svanir mage guy. He tries to summon something, if you dont stop him he starts another event to defeat the giant elemental thing of doom that will smash up the area.

I am well aware of this as part of my completionism I do every event at least twice: fail once, pass once, and do every subsequent event. The events I’ve listed are not linked to other events. They are either bugged or removed from the game.
I’m like Musha and do every event in a zone, including failing them on purpose etc. I have waited many hours, tried to trigger them and also waited in the spot after server restarts but i have never seen the ones he listed.
They were DEFINITELY there during beta. And I’ve even seen one or two of them since game’s release, but never again since. Seriously, what’s up with these events?
-Help Keela unmask the cheats trying to gather data at the chess tables before they escape
-Prevent Inquest thieves from stealing boxes of golem parts and fleeing Soran Draa
-Investigate Inquest activity in the Golemagical Institute
-Destroy the experimental Inquest golem
-Slay the King Hermit Crab that escaped from Splorg Metamystics
I have never seen any of these events – I, like you, have looked for them and I am convinced they’re no longer in the game.
Well, is there no way at all that we can verify this?
I stumbled onto this thread whilst doing a search in order to answer a similar question I had. I started an Asura last night and, like you, am a completionist and wiki’d the Soran events.
I almost gave up on the level 2 events and finally saw the Grumm-golem thing. I had time to read six comic books hanging around waiting for that one. Never saw the thief one. Spent a good amount of time around Keela without seeing that one either. Plenty of folks running about, so I assume it would have triggered.
At any rate, thanks for creating the original thread. Answers some questions I had posed in the Asura forum about the starting area events.
