Fighting DE Bosses is pointless
true…drop sux from champions or veterans in DE :/
actually there is no point in killing them.
The idea behind killing said enemies is a challenge and for fun, I mean an open world “Raid” event that gives XP, Karma, Silver, mob drops, AND a loot chest at the end?
If you increase your Magic Find% well then chances of getting decent/good gear increases.
I did the Balthazar Temple a few moments ago, we failed because people were lazy or whatever and didn’t run back. but I made roughly 4k Karma and 3 gold for maybe 1/1.5 hours of doing an event.
I have 150+% mf and everytime I kill a boss in a DE I don’t get any drop or the drop is like a junk trophy item. Killing a boss that require a lot of dps and time should be more rewarding imo.
You don’t kill the boss for drops, you kill the boss to finish the Event to get the Loot Chest (which has your drops) plus the XP and Karma which can be used to buy gear.
If you’re doing the lower end Event Bosses, which usually aren’t going to have a Loot Chest, that’s actually fairly normal.
Like I said earlier the whole point of them is to do the Events, some flip Waypoints, some unlock Dungeons, some enable Dragon fights, and some have you kill a God to control it’s Temple allowing Karma Exotics to be bought.
TL;DR
Events = Karma/Money
Karma = Gear/Crafting Mats
Killing random NPCs while doing Events = Gear/Money
Killing Bosses to get Loot Chest = Gear/Money/Crafting Mats

I kill the boss to finish the event but I expect to get a drop also…if simple mobs can drop loot why a boss can’t? No I am not doing low end events but those in Cursed Shore. For example Plinx chain event…at the end there is a Champion that never drop a single loot… and don’t tell me that this is normal, because it is not.
Everything has a chance to group something during events, if you’re really using 150% MF then I highly doubt you’ve never seen that guy drop something. I don’t run more then maybe 75% MF and I’ve had a least 1 Blue I remember off him.
Like I said though the point is the Karma, which gets you the gear you’re looking for.
never ever had a drop from this Champion and I am doing this chain event a few times everyday. Yes I really have 150% mf and I have a lot of nice drops from mobs but never from bosses.
So some people see my point other just grind karma
Karma is all well and good but i prefer finding my gear not buying from venders
surely dungeons give good gear right??
also the exp is rubbish very little karma for 24 boss
It seems that a lot of people not on the forums agree with the OP, at least on my server. It is possible to go into many zones and see people ignoring the “kill Champion X event.” In Orr, I mostly see people camping the mass mob zerg events, while Champion events in outlying corners of the map are unattended.
Yes, the fact that AoEing 10 zombies should be more rewarding than killing a Champion or Veteran mob does seem like an odd design choice.
Well the whole point of karma system was that people wouldn´t need to kill same bosses over and over for a chance of drop but they could just buy their rewards instead of counting on getting it as a drop.
Karma rewards for those bosses might be a bit low, that? the problem imho.

So instead of killing the same bosses we now do the same events over and over, not really much of a difference there.
I have as much MF as I possibly can. Killed three dragons this weekend. I earned less money than the travel costs. I got one yellow. One! Three dragons and only one yellow from the chests. I get more yellows spamming my axe #1 skill at the Cursed Shore Penitent Path DEs. How sad is that?
Also, why is it that fighting dragons or participating in most Orr DEs has nearly 0% risk of death. I mean, you have to almost try to mess up to die in them, thanks to the zerg. Its more dangerous running to the events than it is participating in them.

Because usually champs such as the shark one shot even people with good toughness and vitality. Repair and waypoint costs may not be worth the karma. As a speargun thief I’d constantly reapply cripple whenever it almost runs out, but that can only help so much. We do the Grenth event, but that failed the last couple of times =(

The dragons have fear and AoE, while running you cannot dodge out of AoEs even if you want to. Not to mention the cheap DoT effect being near the dragon gives.
There are many champion mobs out there that are very hard to kill and take a long time to kill, yet no chest and maybe drop a fine or masterwork piece. Same karma and silver reward as normal event. Those are pretty pointless other than the challenge, so I guess most people only wanna do them just ONCE, or only jump in when there are already a lot of people doing it and become easy to get reward for a few hits.
The problem with some of these big single mob events is that they last forever, and rarely have any interesting mechanics. They simply stop being fun after a while. So it’s only natural, with no fun being had, to wonder if there are any other reasons to do them. The answer is no.
They could make dragons etc give exotics, but the botters can’t bot those and the deal they made would be void, they have to cater to the bots to keep their bribes coming in. It’s obvious one of the devs took a bribe.

I love the conspiracy angle you’re going for here. LOL.
