Fire and Frost event thoughts.
They already said there won’t be any dragons as a result of these updates coming out in February and March. That doesn’t mean they aren’t linked, but it means we won’t see Primordus.
I guess Primordus in Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa would probably be a huge scare for new players. Gameplay-wise, I think it’d make sense for Primordus not to show up, or at least not in those two zones. Otherwise, we’d have new players logging in and seeing this huge dragon.
I know that Primordus will not appear at the surface but perhaps they may put in event that involve slaying Primordus’ destroyer minions and maybe we will see a dwarf for the first time in GW2.
If you want to see a dwarf go do arah.
If you want to see a dwarf go do arah.
Or join the Priory.
I think it’s Dredge causing all this.
I thought the Heralds in Black Citadel were saying it had something to do with the Fire Legion for Diessa Platue.
Both areas I think.
I’m gonna say it’s the steam creatures causing this. We really haven’t seen a lot from them, and that’s a story thread just itching to be picked up.
Primordus would be a pretty cool take. Imagine if Primordus and Jormag started fighting each other. Hence “Fire and Frost.” But like it’s been said, there wont be a new dragon in this update.

I think it’s the mouth of Zaithan hidden in and underground cave farting; belching and regurgitating having fallen asleep after a nice meal of spicy nachos toped with zesty cheddar cheese and hot jalopenios.

Sons of Svanir = Frost, located in wayfarer foothills.
Flame Legion – Fire, located in diessa plateau.
I’m under the impression they’re either siding with one another, or having some sort of war underground.

Im loving the living story events! my thoughts were originally thinking it was Jormag and Primordus but joshua makes a good point with sons of svanir and flame legion.
The devs have stated that there will be no dragons in the Flame and Frost event. However, that does not rule out the possibility that we won’t see their minions getting involved. I’m fairly certain that this initial phase is the result of Destroyer activity getting close to the surface underneath Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau, although the Refugee Coordinator in the Black Citadel does mention refugees being driven out by Flame Legion. Are the Flame Legion involved in this? Maybe they’ve discovered some new magic that’s responsible, or maybe it’s another Flame Legion crazy trying to worship the Destroyers again.
I think refugees are just migrating to the hoelbrak and citadel because thats where the cheap labour is needed and they are getting killed on the way to the city by the townsfolk, who dont want village idiots taking their job.

What, the npc’s can’t make a good living on the black lion trading post? I thought all friendly npc’s were just day traders.
In any case, on my server (which, for all of you who are reading this, isn’t your home server) the event has progressed well beyond what you have seen! Now (insert cool thing that you would want to happen) is happening because of the compassionate efforts of our world’s charity. It pays to combat the evil, natural forces of Hurricane Irene, Hurricane Sandy, kittenushima Earthquake, BP Oil Spill, Fiscal Cliff whatever this disaster is supposed to be.
Why does everyone instantly jump to dragons as if they’re the only major villains in this universe. How do you know Menzies’ Shadow Army isn’t possessing Steam Creatures, or a team of crazed Margonites is performing a ritual to reincarnate Shiro Tagachi.

Or…it’s Titans. Are we sure we beat them back?

hang on, i thought the steam creatures were confirmed to be the result of (one of) the Asura personal story lines?

An asura would never exagerate his/her accomplishments.
Recently in Hoelbrak, some woman repeatedly mentioned seeing “creatures made of steam” but I don’t think I’ve noticed that before?

She’s always been there. She’s talking about the Steam enemies in Lornar’s Pass, which have been there since launch.
