This has been bugging me for days. Last week, maybe Friday, I was heading across Snowden Drifts (in search of “bone shards” of all things) and on the bottom of the Valslake I found a Fishing Pole. I am one of those people who like to pick up the “found weapons” around the world to see what they do, so I picked it up. I was underwater, so, not surprisingly, it had no “skills” to it. Before I made it to the surface, however, I was attacked by a group of barracuda and lost the item, so I could not see if the item had skills outside the water (which would make sense).

Has anyone else ever found this fishing pole?

I was going to make a trek out there again to look for it, but if someone else has already found it and found out what it does I would appreciate knowing. (And a save of time to trek out to look for it again)

(btw, I have not found this item in the wiki under “Fishing Pole” or in the Environmental weapon list.)

I did find a Fishing Pole in the same area once, although like you, it had no skills underwater. As I was in the area to farm the Barracudas for Small Scales, I promptly dropped the Fishing Pole to resume my hunting, so I don’t know if it had any skills on land either.

I found the Fishing Pole in the same area as well. Had no skills under water and swam to ground and still no skills either…. I even went to a random Quaggan that was there and it said it liked finding hiding places and waiting to be found. Nothing to do with the Fishing Pole… Needless to say i dumped it right after and went on my way… 0_o

I’m aware this is a necro-post but this was the only thread I could find on the subject matter.

I’ve just came across this fishing pole – it has no skills above water unfortunately… Curious to find the purpose of this skill-less item, I ventured to the nearest settlement and asked around and no one seemed to want the fishing pole.

For the curious it’s located just east of Snowdrift Haven Waypoint underwater in the submerged tunnel that connects the two lakes to the south-east and north-east of Snowdrift Haven. Perhaps you can find some use for the rod.
