Escort Warmaster Chan to Shank Anchorage…

After 30+ times of attempts on this event, I am not only questioning whether I even think this Event is even possible, but I’m also beginning to question whether or not this game is worth continuing to play.

It seems to me, that no matter -how- many players whether it is a small group of 2-3 players, or even 1 player. Or whether it is a group of 15+ players, this mission is completely impossible to actually strategically succeed at. My guess is, to actually beat this event, it will have to be based entirely on luck, and luck alone.

The issue isn’t that there are too many players, or even too little players… The issue is that 6 Risen Nobles will target people Chan’s group as they walk down the very beginning entrance to the area, where the entire group gets funneled into a full group of these nobles. When this happens, though the Nobles are obviously incapable of single targetting down 1 member of the group at a time, their AoE, which tics once every second for 2-3k dmg, will land on multiple targets. When you get 6 of these nobles together, 6 aoes spawned ontop of each other, with a group of NPC’s who are incapable of “Evading” the attacks, 12k dmg minimum a second, is just -too- much for them to survive through. Whats the point?

Can anyone offer insight here? I’m seriously upset that I bought a game to basically have to depend on beating an event that is completely impossible to beat. Whether I’m with or without a group of people.

At this point we’re all questioning along similar lines. The next update will be telling. We are currently dealing with a very discouraged player base and a very out of balance game. It’s time to fix it as a high-level priority. From my perspective it’s code red and we will see players hemorrhaging from the game if it continues.

Arenanet broke this event back in Feb/Mar after they buffed Risen Noble damage. There really isn’t much you can do unless you plan in advance to run with a huge zerg equipped with fears to prevent the nobles from dropping their wells.

There is however a ‘chess-like’ way but it is very, very complicated. Someone here wrote a guide on how to solo the event – it’s probably somewhere here

ANet decided to troll the playerbase. Early this year, they were talking about reducing the AoE damage available to players. Players complained. Those player AoE changes have yet to happen. However, the Risen have been given more AoE, so now we can experience the proliferation of AoE in both WvW and PvE.

Or succeed the first event in one go and command all players to lure Risen away from the Pact while attacking the mob. We did this on first try after Gates of Arah became contested several minutes ago.

The event is easy. Just draw aggro, eat a bunch of noble symbols but kill them at the same time and the pact won’t take too many hits. If you get like 8 people for the event it’s a walk in the park.
