Giant Ooze, Metrica Province, constant Death Help?!!
That DE, I can’t be positive… because it has been so long, but I am pretty sure it is labelled as a group event.
With a level 70-80 toon it is possible to solo some group events, depending on the number of adds and their properties, in the 1-15 range. However, even then it is no pushover because of the scaling mechanic.
That alone should be enough to tell that events with the group event label are really not intended to be possible for solo play, same applies to anything that involves a champion mob (golden ring) usually.
Champions are nigh impossible with out surpemely awesome kiting skills,, no matter the level and stats of the combatant. Champions are reserved for group events or are found roaming in out of the way locations.
There is only two types of champion mobs, that you can solo:
Champion mobs that are melee only, provided you have strong ranged kiting abilities and there are not too many adds. For example champion Ettins.
Champion mobs that are ranged only, don’t shoot in quick succession and have no adds. For example champion Wurms.
One of the things about the M.Province is that it has a lot of Team Daily Events. This is one of them, and should be able to be handled by 3-5 people. This particular mission is most successfully handled when you have one or two people DPS’ing the smaller slimes, while the rest of the group concentrates on the big ooze. Movement is a big key to this fight, and getting swarms off people increases the durability.
This is a good training mission for the bigger event in the zone. Learning to work in teams, and observing how enemies react will save lives later on.
I did it yesterday. Killed him by 100% ranged. It is a basic mechanics for boss fight.
When the boss spawns some small wurms (I think its 4 of them), he gets an invincible buff. You need to kill all those small wurms to remove the buff. If someone pulled any of the small wurms away, you might not notice that and would be struggling against his infinite invincible buff.

This is an entirely different boss fight you’re describing……
