Devs, how are we meant to do this event? I’ve been trying to uncontest the cathedral of silence for around a week now on multiple EU servers.

Either someone doesn’t know how to do the actual first capture event and pulls mobs straight to the keeper jonez NPC and instant fail.

OR we complete this first capture event and fail on the help keeper jonez cleanse the temple event, 2 champion spiders 5+ veterans and around 20? normal risen spider mobs are ridiculous when its just 10 people doing the event, you can imagine the amount of pulls and immobilizes on us!

Seriously this event needs a massive overhaul Anet.

Agree. The design of events in open world PvE should revolve around the player you find there, and that would be a wide diversity of players. This is a recognition something akin to how form follows function guides architecture. You don’t design open world events addressed to hardcore, highly skilled players. Anet has actually said they were attempting to do this with Grenth and it’s simply the wrong thing to do.

By that I don’t mean that the content should be easy in a level 80 zone, simply level appropriate and most MMO’s find this balance fairly easily. It’s really not a place to experiment with hard mode, that would be instances with tiered difficulty. I’ll sign on to any effort to re-think combat in open world PvE in GW2. What they are doing is simply alienating players and harming the game.

Anet has actually said they were attempting to do this with Grenth and it’s simply the wrong thing to do.

Its a ridiculous thing to do, especially when they gate specific content behind it which is highly desirable and can’t be got elsewhere except maybe dungeons.
